brucecampbell
I've just had power restored after two days without. I have two HC800's The primary sounds like the fan is working, but no blue light has come on, and I've got no connection to C4 The slave looks like it has come back online ok. Any advice on figuring out if the HC800 is fried? Â Â

Well, try to rest it to factory, u need a project backup to be able to restore your project, if it’s back online, image update it to 3.3.0 if u r on OS3, restore ur project. If not online, its may be the flash drive. brucecampbell

If not online, its may be the flash drive. Talked to my dealer, tried a factory restore, but nothing happened. So I'm now after advice on replacements. I'm assuming the HC800 is obsolete, so I will need one of the new controllers. 1. how do I know which controller is best for my needs?   Connections in use:   I have around 36 zigbee dimmers and keypads   3 serial   8 IR out   7 Contacts   5 relays   4 Audio out 2. Can I use my other HC800 to run as a slave?   Would I have to stay on V3.2 to keep an HC800 in my project?   what would be the best option to run all the extra contacts, relays etc - assuming the most a controller has is 4 of each?  Cheers.
Cyknight
First: to keep any HC800 you'd be stuck at 3.0.0 Second, I'd likely suggest a CORE5 plus an i/o extender. That will cover all in/outputs and is plenty of horsepower - this does assume both HC800's are in a single location. brucecampbell

HC800 max release is 3.3.0 not 3.0.0 Andrew luecke

brucecampbell
Thanks for the advice. Just waiting on quotes from my dealer now. Might look at a Core 5 and IO Extender. Cheers. Â

Andrew luecke
If you go EA series, I recommend you go Ea3v2, not the older v1 generation.. But, the core series is a totally different beast, and I'd definitely pick that any day of the week brucecampbell
prabeau
I have had same issue with my HC800 and a new power supply was the answer.

Good point, it would be easy enough to see if you swap the two powersupplies to see if this isnt a 40 dollar fix. brucecampbell

That’s a $30 of Amazon or eBay, I didn’t change my power supply but I think it was 19 VDC PS like the ones used to power old laptops brucecampbell

Already tried a different power supply, but no luck. I can hear the fan working, but no lights, not even the power light shows up.
