Cable box (IR) programming help

Our living room cable box (Cox) programming button for “last” or “previous channel” works maybe 5% of the time. I swear it worked well at some point but all of sudden it hasn’t done over a year. Our media room has the Cox DVR and it works just fine.

 

Any idea or help as to why the one button works very infrequently?

if you are using the same driver in both rooms then its emitter placement. cover the emitter with your hand, press previous button, If it works more reliably that is going to be the issue.

This is not an IR placement issue. Every button works as expected except the PREV (or RECALL) button. Also not remote hardware issue as both our 260 and Halo behave this way as well as the C4 iOS app.

Try upping the repeat count in the driver.
