Composer Home Edition 3.3.3 spinning and "Not Responding"

Recommended Posts

I'm at a loss as this used to work...

Trying to log in to remote system:

My UN and Password are accepted, it sees my controller, it says ready to connect.

But when I click connect it just spins, top says "not responding" and times out.

I've uninstalled CHE and reinstalled...not sure what else to do?

My dealer who is remote is able to connect with no problem using their composer.

Thanks!

is your system itself on 3.3.3?  the software + your OS need to match.

Try to completely delete all hidden directories under roaming after uninstalling HE again, start with a clean install of HE that matches your controller version

So my system is 3.3.0.  I have also tried version HE 3.3.0 with the same result.  When I was at the location and connected locally 3.3.3 was able to connect just fine.  It's seems just be remote.

And now I'm getting this strange message (SEE ATTACHED) that showed up a couple of times.

This is a good idea.  Can you tell me which directories I need to delete and where they are located?

Also, you're not using some crappy 3rd party antivirus are you?

I don't.  It's a Windows 10 PC that is JUST for control4.

Make sure u can see hidden files in windows and uninstall HE and any other composer releases:

1) Open File Explorer/Windows Explorer

2) Type %AppData% into the address bar and hit enter

3) Navigate to “Roaming” folder

4) Navigate to “Control4” folder

5) Delete it

6) Restart windows

7) Install a fresh copy of HE same version of your controller

Thanks!  So I tried all of this, re-installed everything.  Now I can't connect connect where it tells me is seeing controller.  It keeps saying "Verifying account, email, password"...the fails and tries it all over again.  I've checked the account name, email and password over and over again.  I'm using the exact same credentials to connect using the app so I know it's right.

Oddly when try the credentials for my other house with control4 system it connects there no problem.

I've also tried on a totally different machine and the exact thing happens so I know it's not my machine settings.

When I click on "more info" this is what is says so not sure what to do next.

Are u using any firewall? Anyways, make sure your DNS is working properly, flush your PC DNS and try to connect again, it simply can’t reach C4 servers for authentication!

I will try that but isn't strange that:

1) The same thing is happening on 2 different computers?

2) I have 2 C4 systems...main house and vacation house.  I can connect to main house remotely and don't get the error above...but the error above is what I get when I try to connect to vacation house.

THANKS for your continued help!

UPDATE - I flushed the DNS on both machines and got the same result and error message as posted above.

Basically, uninstall the adapter, tehn reinstall it:

https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/ManagingWindowsTAPDrivers

So I uninstalled all instances of home edition, uninstalled open VPN… Then when I reinstalled composer home edition it asked me if I wanted to reinstall the top drivers and I said yes and the problem still persisted.

Not sure if you saw the other post but the weird thing is I can connect to one of my control four systems with no problem remotely but the other one is the one that delivers the error and will not connect.

I am beyond happy to pay for the help… Would you at all be willing to do a remote session on my computer and help me resolve?

Jason
