  1. At some point recurring revenues will be possible to achieve the best experience with the newest technology. $100/mo for your home is chump-change vs intitial outlay of for all tech that gets outdated in a year that's why touchscreens etc. will be seldom used and other services will be incremental/mo depending upon how involved/integrated you want to get. Having all the tech integrated is what your paying for - having that updated regularly cost $ (Apple does hardware but free OS). I can a little of both with C4.
  2. I already pay for alarm services so if they added 4sight for $10/mo, alarm for $15/mo, hardware etc... I don't think it would be unreasonable to pay $100/month but would have to see new hardware and integration thats noteworthy. The problem with starting this now, is that most tech companys have already institued this with services that are necessary (i.e. alarm) so hopefully SnapAV will have 'other' linked services they can sell to the consumer (things they believe a consumer would want but doesn't know it yet) and entice such expansion of the home.
  3. That model would only work if C4 would be an alarm company and have necessary recurring monthly revenue (which might be the direction after SnapAV purchase). Touchscreens are a wow factor but given the prevence of iPads and TV's in home, I can see them being only selectively used while voice, location, programming be much more interative and useful.
  4. Most ppl don't buy an iPhone ever year So true and thats why revenue for Apple has fallen. As long as touchscreen can be upgraded or drastically change in appearance/functionality, upgrading is useless. C4 should concentrate on a new remote and integration more than anything. The touchscreens in my house are barely used and I'll probably only keep a few when I upgrade.
  5. The videos on each new screen HELPED a lot to understand OS3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So true! They are so far behind (3.0 should of come last year) and on the Amazon Alexa bandwagon and little Apple integration (WAF is with Apple). I would advise most to wait especially since with merger could change things more but thats with Hope! Not sure on your audio matrix on 3.0 question.
  7. Nice that OS3 is finally marketed/released but the path/roadmap is somewhat questionable esp with no official new hardware or other features coincide.... Like treading water instead of swimming to win. Oh, well... still waiting...
  8. I would use solid if it was my house but don't think its mandatory. Depending upon the sensor but 18/2 should work.
  9. Should be interesting but I think the evaluation is good. We shall see. More importantly, excited for future...
  10. In the end, the transaction will close...always is a group unhappy...Oh, well...
  11. I agree! Change is hard for so many including dealers so now we will wait and see...
  12. I think this could be good for everyone! WoooHooo!
  13. I agree! They are creating more of a mess unless they get rid of the lower line but from the press releases it seems they have the DIY channel, Lutron RA2 Select for CEPro's, RA2 for CEPro's, wired solutions.... Crazy to add all those resources...something will be gone in a year...hope its not the regular RadioRA2!!!!
  14. Things are never that simple...lol If others have the issue and get theirs working, please post fix. Thanks!
  15. Is it possible to update without connecting with composerpro given error?
  16. Alan- I'm trying to understand the 'experience buttons' vs the buttons C4 already uses. Is it like having a TV button under watch but shows the TV on vs off (black tv button)? Possibly a window or door button with one being open and another being closed? (such as how the garage door button shows this)? Thanks!
  17. This is awesome Alan! Question: Will it work with an iOS device? I have the same question as DanH. Thanks for making all these drivers for C4!!!!
