You may want to ask if you can have the HVAC unit handle the variable speed vs the Tstat doing this job. My unit (American Standard/Trane) has this choice. My installed advised to have the HVAC unit handle adjusting the variable speed for this very reason.

Can we please just get native iOS integration already.

Just wanted to re-post here - my shades got installed yesterday. They’re awesome! They are super quiet. They’re Graber shades, with Somfy wireless, battery powered motors. They have rechargable lithium ion batteries. I’ll post a video/pics for those that asked, but I wouldn’t be worried about the noise.
Cool! Been watching this thread. How does it integrate again? Hub needed or straight integration with Somfy wireless?

I’m in the same situation as the OP. Been looking at the hardwired fixtures but would like the ability to change the color. A few fixtures coming to market that allow lights to change color but very expensive.
Would something like this work? Can it be hidden in a wall? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZDR42C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oD7dEbCB3AZ2R

The investment firms that own SnapAV couldn’t care less about how our small group of C4 enthusiasts hate their new product. They are only looking to maximize their investment for a future sale.
I have a feeling we will be seeing more product decisions like this come out in the future.
I also can’t imagine how difficult it must be to produce and manufacture any type of electronics and also build an innovative one. Seems like the google and apples and amazon types are bound to win. Not sure if that is good or not.

Would be great if something like this was available with C4 integration. We have antique brass finish and I haven’t been able to find any compatible C4 locks that have this finish. With this company no need to buy a whole new handle set.

Hey C4Forums Community. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Jonathan Brown, I work for Control4(SnapAV) Customer Interface group. I am a Senior Software Engineer on the iOS team. I plan on spending time in the forums off and on to check in to see if I can help troubleshoot and resolve posts where I can and or direct your issues that might need additional help to others in our organization who might have more of an impact on issues I see being posted. I am looking to be a resource to help solve as many community issues as I can.

So can you clue us in on why it has been so difficult to get native Siri/HomeKit integration? I don’t know two beans about writing any type of programming code but would be interested in hearing from someone like you who does.
Thanks!

Thanks for the clarifications guys. You are right - load wire is definitely needed for dimmer.

Dimmer has to go on the side that has power coming into the box.

That was my thought. Thanks for the response.

I think I will try to solder a wire onto the existing stub of a wire. I probably would damage the circuit board if I tried to replace the wire. Resoldering to a board is something I have zero experience with. Maybe someone else has done this and will respond.

For anyone who is curious:
-
Thanks! That was my assumption as well.
I’ve never opened one up before, but I assume it is soldered to a board or chip of some kind? -
I bought these switches (not dimmers) used so I guess I get what I pay for! But is there any way to make this work? Why would someone cut the neutral wire on the switch so short? I was thinking if possibly soldering a wire to the stub. Bad idea?
Thanks,
Jeff

Temperature Display Driver (2.10.0+)
I’m on 2.10.5 and found the driver but what do I bind it to? This is for card access WCS10-R relay. I only have relay 1, relay 2 and magnetic contact for binding choices.
It does display local temp under the system design tab. Missing something easy...
Thanks!

Snap AV owns both companies (houselogix and Control4) and needs to fix this. I think a lot of people have the HSIM so I would think it would get some priority of other stuff.

I have customers running the HSIM on OS3. Where does it say its not supported?
Would be interested to know what panel they have. Specifically a vista 20?

I think he’s saying if snap doesn’t update the old houselogix driver you and I are out of luck. Snap doesn’t seem to care about it.
Snap bought houselogix and shut it down for the most part even though they said they were still going to sell the HSIM module.

You can't use the Control4 driver e the houselogix module. You need to use the cbm module from Honeywell with the control4 driver

So does that mean the houselogix module is dead moving forward? Or can the houselogix module be used with another driver?
If this is true, then that’s sad because it works great for me on 2.10.

Others say it is working no problem with OS3. Although not sure if they have Vista 20 panel. Any thing else change like moving any cables, changing out something, etc?
