Are you talking to me when you say "he"? Sorry, I must of misunderstood, I thought these forums were for questions? I would think you would not have to respond if it irritates you, right?

But that is part of the problem. A nice metal surround or recess bracket, or something to that effect doesn't have to cost a ton of money AND doesn't have to be mandatory either. They could have at least provided an option to make the Chime look a bit nicer than having it look like every other cheap option on the market. I mean the C4 sales pitch is that isnt like the cheap systems, right? And price is relative, you can buy a fully functioning Chime doorbell for $59.99. The C4 Chime is still $400. My opinion doesn't matter, but just thought they could have designed it a bit better to make it more sophisticated looking and maybe provided an option to have it recessed, etc. by buying an extra $100 bracket or something to that effect. It doesn't have to jump to $1200 because someone wants it to look a bit more seamless.

But C4 dropped the ball again on the design, in my opinion. If spending the money on a C4 system over these cheap Amazon/Best Buy/ door to door salesman systems, then the Chime should look like it. it should look more high end or "estately", not just like a cheap wireless doorbell that protrudes from the wall. At least make something that has the option to be built in or something that looks a bit richer. I'm sort of forced to use the Chime now because of its capabilities, but have to sacrifice the looks I guess. I just think it looks cheap.

I also looked into JoshAI. It’s just crazy to me the amount of money that has to be spent to achieve this simple task within Control4. I mean, isn’t C4 this big giant now in automation, but we still have to invest in something like JoshAI to achieve very basic voice control over music? What are the C4 company developers and programmers doing all day? Haha. One would think that it’s even a bit embarrassing  having to buy third party hardware and software to get this to work. I don’t care about asking Alexa for cooking information or what the capital city is of Arizona, I just want voice control over music on the whole home audio. I also have 10 touchscreens all strategically placed. If the mic on the T3 would be able to pick up commends and process them for music, that would be awesome!

    All,
In a new build, I will have 12-14 in ceiling concealed Echo Dot 3 devices. I would really like them to perform the simplest of functions, but I have been told in the past this is not doable. I would simply like to be able to sit in my kitchen for example, and say “Alexa, play Maroon 5”, whereas Alexa would notify the C4 system, kitchen zone turns on, and Maroon 5 plays. I want to listen to music on the whole home audio, not the tiny little Dot speakers. This seems to me like the most basic function that one could want. A simple integration of Alexa into C4, but I have been told it really can’t be done? I mean isnt this why we spend the huge amounts of money on C4? There are other solutions out now or coming out that can easily do this, but the super expensive C4 system can’t perform this simple function?

So in a 4 way situation, it would work with an APD and two AUX? Or a KPD and two AUX?

Also, in the end both types of systems, once installed, will work exactly the same. The real only big difference is if the EA5 goes down, will most of lights still work? With hidden switches, primary loads in all room still work. And with panelized switches, if EA5 goes down, then all the primary loads to each keypad still work if programmed to specific functions. But again, like the post above said about the Lounge, he only programs the keypad top two buttons to turn on and off the main lights. So technically, in hidden system, this function would be the same as the keypad dimmer will always turn on main lights. Other then that, most of the other bullet points don’t really make a difference, except maybe the 0-10v and pump control, but again for those you have to buy a module for each. Again guys, just weighing it out. For the tiny differences,  I know that my dealer will say if your EA5 goes down, we can be there the next day to fix or replace.
