Which version of ipad mini do you use?  
I previously had an Ipad mini 4 and 5 and they were quite a bit slower than the mini 6.
I use an Ipad mini 6 and am very pleased the results.
I have it mounted with a Simplidock mount and use a POE to USB-c adapter.

I have never bought from Vidabox, but looked at them in the past I just like more of a flush mount that Simplidock offers.

I wouldnt use any system that locks me into a camera brand so Unifi would be out.
In my home I have cameras from Vivotek, Dahua, Panasonic and Amcrest.  They all fit different needs for price/size/color/FOV and other misc features.  That is why I never suggest going to Costco and buying 8 identical cameras + an NVR or looking at Unifi that locks you in.
As someone asked above, I am not 100% sure, but I believe Synology will work with any ONVIF camera.
For me, Blue Iris + 1,000's of ONVIF compatible cameras + a free (or for more features paid) C4 driver available.

yes you just need to have a dealer make the connection from the TV to the amp (going through a conversion driver which converts from optical to coax, as your TV driver won't have a Coax output to link to, since it doesn't actually have a Coax output)

I am still using Kodi in conjunction with Emby server. It just works for years now, Emby server never crashed once and is easy to use.
It always supsrises me that I seem to be the only one using it here...

Big thanks and thumbs up to Sitdownman for assisting in me wrapping my head around on setting up the MCE Controller commands file to do everything I wanted in MCE.
I even mapped the Menu button on the C4 SR-260 remote to launch Media Center-  Additionally I added all of the transport controls.
I've attached the Commands file so it will hopefully save the next person some time.

The transformer just has a standard AC plug on it.  So just plug the Tansformer's AC plug into your standard AC receptacle(wall outlet).  
In the video he stated to plug into a GFI Outlet with a weather tight box,  that's if your mounting the transformer outside.
I personally didn't want the Transformer mounted on the side of the house.  I mounted it near my AV racks and just ran the 12 V(low voltage) wiring outside out to the lights.
Plug your transformer into the C4 Outlet Switch which is plugged into the standard AC receptacle.
