Hi, what is the "remote dealer forum" ?

Maybe try working with one of the dealers who participate in this forum and who do remote work? I’ve had great experience with @chopedogg88.

Here's a bit more on my setup... my C4 controller (EA1) and Roon Nucleus are both connected to my Denon AVR. If I connect the EA1 directly to my TV (actually an Epson projector) and keep the Nucleus connected to the Denon, then I do get the experience that I am seeking.
So that leads me to two questions...
- Is there any downside to having the EA1 connected to my TV instead of my AVR?
- How big of a project is it to reprogram my system if I change the EA1 connection like this?
Thanks!
Anyone have insight on these two questions?

I’m following Roon since the very early beginning, even before they come up with their own hardware, I still can’t swallow 2 grands for browsing music! Maybe if I got a large bonus will consider one, maybe ...
I upgraded from hosting my own Roon core on a Windows 10 PC to the Nucleus. The stability of a dedicated Core device has been nice... Though agreed $1,300 for that stability (and a beautiful piece of gear) was definitely a luxury spend.

You want roon to use the msp osd
Hi @msgreenf. What is "msp?"

Roon user here with a Nucleus and the Roon C4 driver. Roon really is an awesome app for managing your music library, integrating it with Tidal or Qobuz, exploring album and artist info, and more. The employees and Roon community are great too!
I was the guinea pig for my dealer with a Nucleus/C4 setup. Wish l had known about your discount @time2jet.
My only disappointment is that the Roon C4 driver doesn't integrate with the C4 on screen display, and thus I can't use it for those times when I just want to navigate with my SR-260 remote.

This is an ancient history thread, but I wonder if anyone is working on a JRiver driver. I need a to be able to play back 7.1 channel FLACs via a custom home theater PC for a sound installation project.
Is Kodi an option for your project?
Another thought... Roon has a C4 driver for its Nucleus which can handle 5.1 (and presumably 7.1) FLAC files. Not the cheapest approach, but a sweet piece of gear.

You'll need to get the pro Shield. On the new models it's the only one with USB ports.
Good to know! Thanks!!

I have done one. It works w Irusb. If you keep the IP the same it won't
Great. Thanks for the helpful Intel @msgreenf!
Reason I'm looking to replace my current Shield is to get Atmos support for Disney and Netflix. lt sounds like it's definitely coming to the 2019 version, but unclear if the 2017 version will get it.

Has anyone swapped their 2017 version of the Nvidia Shield for the new 2019 version? Does it work with the IRUSB and the @videostorm driver? Will it require re-programming by my dealer?

Same problem here with Netflix icon. Using Chowmain's Nvidia Shield driver.

Hi @chopedogg88. Sent you a PM the other day regarding some programming needs. Just wanted to make sure you saw it. Thanks!

Have you taken a stereo cable from the controller into the transmitter but cut it open and spliced the wire that corresponds to the tip of the controller side to the ring of the transmitter side leaving the tip of the transmitter side capped off? Many of the extender kits I have seen have a constant 5v on the tip side of the extender which is for powering an IR repeater eye and causes issues because the signal input is on the ring terminal not the tip coming from a control system.
If you dont have a way to testing continuity split the wire open. cut the red and the white (sometimes black). leave the ground connected. Splice the white of 1 side to the red of the other. cap of the unused ends to avoid a short. Plug the side with the red into the transmitter then the white to the c4 controller to cross the pins to the corresponding terminals
Hi @sonic30101. I finally got around to trying this cable splicing idea as you suggested. I took a stereo cable, spliced red on one side to white on the other, kept the yellow together, and left the other red and white capped, and plugged the red side into the transmitter and white side into the C4. Unfortunately, no luck.
Any other thoughts?
I guess I'm going to have to give up on the HDBaseT matrix and just bite the bullet and run another HDMI cable from the AVR to the projector.
Thanks!

I'm looking to buy an IR emitter that will work with my EA1. I have a box full of IR emitters, but only one of them actually works with my EA1. I need at least one more. My original dealer was Best Buy, but I don't expect I'll have much luck trying to buy the correct emitter from them.
Any advice?
Thanks!

I have not tried this. I'm a little intimidated by the idea, but I'll give it a try this weekend.
One thig I want to clarify... you're talking about doing this to the cable that runs from the EA1 to the HDBaseT transmitter IR input?
Thanks!
-
Well, I have seemingly tried everything, and I can't get IR signal to send over my HDBaseT extender. Stereo cable. Mono cable. Mono to stereo and stereo to mono adapters. 5V mono to 12V stereo cable.
Am I missing something? Anything else I might try?

They are quite often different voltage too. Blustream who we use for almost all our HDBaseT matrices have a stereo 12V IR input jack. Very thoughtfully they come included with 4x IRCAAB cables, as list in link below, which covert the 5V mono to 12V stereo in order to work with the IR inputs on the matrix. HDAnyhwere is the sam and I have used several of the spare IRCAB cables on other take-over jobs involving HDAnywhere matrices and they work perfectly on them too.

I have quite a few of these spare, I can send one to you to try out and if it works I can arrange to order and supply more to you.
@Crustyloafer, can I buy one of these cables from you?
Everything else has failed. I tried the stereo cable that @chopedogg88 recommended above. I tried a Mono to Stereo adapter plugged into the C4. I tried a Stereo to Mono adapter plugged into the HDbaseT device. Nothing worked.
Thanks!

Interesting. Thanks @chopedogg88. I'm definitely confused now though. @sonic30101 says the IR outputs on the EA1 are mono. You're saying that a 3.5mm stereo cable from the EA1 to the a HDbaseT transmitter should still work though?
Thanks!

I see that "Long Home" is a setting option for the Guide and Menu button mapping. What does "Long Home" do?
Also, how can I bring up the context menu in Kodi?
Thanks!
