Wow, ridiculous indeed not to have the option and only have some ghetto solution . Thank goodness for Ruckus Unleashed

You're trying to get a complete solution AKA experience at a discount. It is very much are apples to apples no matter how much you wish to deny it.
I’m not trying to get integration service for a discount. I’m trying to get hardware for a discount. Why is that so difficult to understand ? Your analogy is meaningless

Good luck with walking into a fine dining restaurant with all the ingredients for an exquisite meal and expecting a great experience at a discount.

Trying to shoehorn the biz model of some other industries like IT into this one will most likely cost you more in the long run if a high level of service and support is important.
A side note but relevant: I considered supplementing my biz by signing up with a company that subs out installations for major retailers. But the high volume and in turn, low level of service that required to make it anywhere near feasible, wasn't the service I was looking to provide in good conscience.
We all want the best of everything but typically have to choose a tradeoff and not complain about it if it bites you in the a$$ later. Enjoy your spin at the wheel...

Another point many businesses don't take into consideration is the initial cost savings can quickly be diminished when you have to waste valuable time addressing issues with service calls for less reliable and/or poorly performing products. When the budget allows it pays to do it right the first time with Ruckus.

Have extensive experience installing Ub, Ruckus, Araknis, and Zyxel in residential environments over the years and Ruckus has provided not only the best performance but the best reliability over all the others. I don't care who the manufacturer is, it just has to deliver reliable good performance over the LONG run; not just a couple of years. Ruckus has been the only one to do that. Do what works best for your business AND clients.

That's a test sponsored by Ubiquiti...https://alethea.in/wifi-performance-benchmark-testing-class-room-environment/
I'm sure there are others showing different results. In the end, for home users the cost of "enterprise" HW probably doesn't make sense, especially if you need recurring licenses and/or support.
Ruckus Unleashed doesn't require ongoing licensing, etc.

Where is the PROOF that UB outperforms Ruckus? I've installed both and haven't seen proof of that that at all. Not asking about anecdotes; rather, actual published unbiased test reviews.Their sub $300 APs out perform Rukus $1000+ APs.
It sounds like UBNT was above your head. I would love to hear about the "crap"...

I did not start a conversation with you. I'm not sure why we're talking in the first place. Thats why your unhealthy obsession with my posts are bothersome.
You are still hung up on your mis-interpretation of what "a dealer" means in the context of my sentence. It could be one, a few, or many. It does not automatically mean all.
It's possible you're great at your job. I'm not sure if this is what you need in order to move on to hijack another conversation.
Not hung up on anything at all; much to the contrary. You were mistaken thinking you could just make a blanket statement about all dealers based on your narrow opinion and got called out on it; nothing more. Thanks for finally owning up to it, no one is perfect.

Please don't flatter yourself. Just refer to post #20 for the clarification and memory refresh you seek.I don't remember referencing you specifically or all other dealers. Again, you're mis-interpreting a rather short sentence. Your obsession with me today is a bit alarming.

There's no arguing at all. Your blanket statement is wrong so it needed to be clarified that you don't speak for all dealers and how their businesses are run or what they charge. It's very easy to participate constructively in forums without spreading misinformation.

Customers' point of view is perfectly understood. It's also understood that your blanket statement claiming to know how all other dealers run their businesses is wrong. It's that simple.

Then I'll rephrase my post: Your generalization of how how all other dealers run their business is flawed. Find a more responsible way to promote your business.I am a dealer. I already gave more information that most dealers would like to offer. I didn't have to drive to this site. No time was wasted on both sides. Time is money. Giving the customer options without trying to sell anything is the experience I would like if it were the other way around.

Your experience doesn't represent all dealers. If you call a dealer to show up, it'll cost you more than $500 or you'll get a hefty sales pitch....

+1000The NYC Subway system runs OS2. Yes, os2. You think they have fomo from Windows 2016 server? No, the system works. It's the same thing with control4. Control4 makes incredible reliable products but they will always release new things. Everything won't always be backwards compatible and thats a good thing. If everything was backwards compatible forever that would mean they aren't innovating enough.
The bitch fest this thread has become is just stupid already.
Those that disagree need to realign their expectations with reality. Trying to make C4 look like an outlier is a fallacy.

I updated a client last week from 2.10 to 3 and my phone is also an S8+ . No issues when testing system w/my phone. Possible you have a rogue app, or some odd blocker apps on those phones?I don't have 4Sight. I hope it's a bug that will be fixed soon. The odds of it happening on 3 different phones are pretty unlikely. Especially when I never had these problems before the update with same router and equipment.

Wish they had Savant's GUI team; hopefully something comparable is on the horizon.control4 and icons - never got this right yet - need to sub contract this to a design company.

The pontificating chest beaters here really look silly; should take it down a few notches. These rumors are not the nuclear codes

I'm not a security dealer but was able to program a DSC PC1832 panel for my sister with the help of the YouTube video at the following link:
I installed the Envisalink module for self monitoring and she's happy with it : http://www.eyezon.com/?page_id=176
No bells and whistles with that setup but good for lower budget solutions.

You can believe that if you want as well as that you're paying the same price for a bottle of wine, champagne, etc. as what the liquor store charges
