I thought I recalled some discussion in another thread were you changed the way you were doing something with the driver. I'm sorry if that's not the case. I could try poking around to find the reference.

I recall it as well. Something along the lines of putting the scripts on another device rather than on the controller.

Guys, this is all I wanted. I can easily control anything in C4 using curl with this driver. Why everyone has to be so argumentative, defensive, and egotistical is beyond me.

This is an awesome driver and will open up a lot of possibilities for integration. That's what this is all about, "hacking" one device at a time😘

It also sounds like you are a dealer. Just note that you might want to review the contract terms with Control4 and be wary if they take offense a dealer contract termination could be on the table.

I think you’re missing the point. I don’t think any of this is “hacking”. I’m just trying to emulate C4 UI commands. C4, Savant, Crestron, URC, RTI, etc all started with emulating IR commands. All systems at one point or another have used undocumented protocols.

If you did not get explicit permission, then reverse engineering is hacking.

I'm familiar with this driver, however do I understand correctly that it is only good for controlling a single event? Im trying to communicate with the controller directly without an additional driver, and be able to control any of the devices in composer.

Hmmm, via shell? That's not possible 3.1.1+

    Perhaps.

To me it looks like the remote is unchanged from its original form from Neeo with the exception of adding certification for two additional wifi channels. This per FCC filings.

There are pros and cons to the choices of radio support. Since the device is more or less unchanged from its original form I'd gather that software upgrades are possible to make an old Neeo support C4. It's also the reason for no Zigbee.

I read there were enough hardware differences that the original Neeo remote cannot run the C4 software.

Thank you ms, the nk is capable of this option but my programmer did not choose this.

since I dont know how to fix it, if I just hard wire the printer in to the pc I should be able to do it that way right?

is there any down side to doing this?  I just have to make sure I keep the pc powered on to print from other devices on the network?

    thanks

This is 100% more secure than dropping your WiFi security to support wpa.

    It's honestly the best decision.

  7. Since it is not a Triad AMS, I would expect having to follow the same steps listed in the Control4 4k video switch driver. It specifies that silence needs added at the beginning of the audio file to move the audio backwards since it takes time to send each command to the video switch.

All 3rd party matrix switches have a command delay and I could see it scaling badly (why I like the Triad AMS).

To test that theory out and for your own experience, try it with a single room, then slowly add more rooms if it works fine.

I have done some programming that syncs the volume and mute states between two rooms, that wasn't too bad, but is there an easier way to do this?  The Room Control Driver lets you sync sources between two rooms.  Is there a simple way to keep volume synced in the same way?

    Not that I know of.
