Best way is the Room Control driver.
You can sync the source from one room to any number of rooms.
-
If you're a dealer, 2.0.6 Composer Pro is available for download, but only 2.5.3 is available for the Control4 OS.
-
Is the Neeo driver set to have it stay connected all the time? They are very sleepy if not.
-
That would also allow you to browse and search, rather than require saving Sonos favorites.
-
Just an FYI, if you get your system updated to Control4's 2.10.6 or 3.1.2, you won't need the Sonos for Amazon Music since you could use it natively with Control4.
-
Also, the latest Sonos drivers only show Sonos favorites and playlists, so make sure you favorite selections from Amazon Music.
-
I would highly suggest having your dealer update you to at least 2.9.1. While they are at it, they can verify your Sonos drivers are the latest version.
Assuming your Sonos devices themselves are updated to the latest Sonos OS?

Last I saw and heard, Pandora Premium is not supported. Just the standard Pandora stations work.
-
It's only available with a license and it costs $150 (comes with a year of 4sight).
You will need to talk to your dealer or find a dealer that will sell you a license (some do not).

I personally turn off confirm room off, so it works like the SR260...

I figured I'd try this out. It's way better!
I didn't realize how inconvenient it was to hit off, then slide my hand up to confirm. Now it's just pick up and done.

But, since it's driver-based, I'm less concerned. I was initially concerned if my clients could just buy it and start running with it.
I'm not inclined to have another webserver running on the controller, so you don't have to listen to my feedback since I won't be using it.
Thanks for letting me know that you don't know if Control4 would approve of it though. That is interesting.

Handling IP communication is different than spinning up a webserver.
-
But honestly, A 'I reached out to Control4, and they approve of this driver implementation or have no issues with it' was all I was asking.

yup - hacked. so hacked i even added C4:RenameDevice() to their documentation while i was in there so everyone else can hack. that's the actual API call if you want me to look it up for you.
Hacked can also mean using an API in an unapproved method, right? Even if the API calls exist, they can be used without the API owner's permission (hack), then the API owner can shut it down.
I recall Control4 shutting down a 'hacked' MyQ driver recently.
-
I don't know that it is. The doc shows it hosts a web server on the controller.
Maybe I missed something, but that doesn't seem like something a driver should be doing.
-
Ah, main difference being HE is still required. I could see that being approved and a solution I'd look at.
It just means the possibility and functions are there. I would still be very surprised about Control4 approving of this alternative.

This isn't the first "rename" driver. Nobody said you had to recommend it to anyone.
Link to another one?
Seems odd to me to approve something only in Composer Pro.

by my read, does not violate the licensing agreement
That does not give me confidence in trying it as a solution nor something I would recommend to others.
To me that reads as 'I hacked shit, but did not get explicit approval'.
-
Curious. Did this get approval from Control4?
Seems like something they may take issue with.
-
For sure not compatible. OS3 only allows the T3 touchscreens.

If it’s going to manage everything, does it not need to be able to see everything?
Manage the Network, not the rest.

My end goal is to use VLAN1 for management only. It has always been set up for everything on 1 VLAN since day one but once I figure out how to get everything to talk (my test camera working) I will end up setting up 6 different VLANS for all of my different equipment. I wish I had set up separate VLAN’s right from the start but hindsight is 20/20. Lesson learned.
zone bonding is enabled.
Try VLANs 2-6. I don't believe VLAN 1 bonds like the others.
i.e. use it for management only as it is designed. Using it for testing won't work as I don't believe it is designed to bond as the other zones do.

You can join rooms with a single driver, but it's easiest one per room to get all of the programming events.
