  1. Unfortunately as it’s currently set up, the AUX input will not work. With the puck set to toggle the load through the AUX it provides huge limitations. The puck is almost treating the PIR feed like a pulse so when the PIR defects movement it toggles the power. This is fine if the lights are off but if you override through control4 it causes issues. For example if I turn the lights on via Control4 and the PIR detects movement the puck will toggle the load, turning the lights off... It then means when the PIR timer runs down it will toggle the load again which in this scenario would turn the lights back on again. They would not turn off until Control4 turned them off of the PIR detected motion. Defeats the object of a PIR if the lights turn off when motion is detected. I tried using the AUX as ON but then the lights never turn off from the PIR. I suppose I would need to put a timer in control4 to turn the lights off. Does any of this make sense?
  2. So good news and bad news. The good news is the switched live from the PIR into the AUX of the puck works perfectly so when the PIR triggers, the lights turn on via the puck. The bad news is if the lights are on from Control4 and the PIR triggers to also on it then turns the lights off. It’s almost as if the AUX is set to turn the lights to the opposite state. If lights are off and PIR is off = lights off If lights are on (turned on from Control4) and then the PIR triggers to on, the lights go off. Is there a way to fix this in composer? Thank you for the great advice by the way.
  3. Ahh I think you’re on to something here, thank you. I have another circuit in the house with a wireless keypad dimmer and a PIR which works no problem. I was expecting the puck to be the same. I thought the puck operated like a switch and basically turned the load on/off? I was expecting the PIR to be the connection to the lights and just feed the puck switch live into the switched live of the PIR. That way if the puck turns on the lights will come on. The issue is the PIR doesn’t seem to like it working that way. Here is a link to the PIR manual: https://www.steinel.de/out/media/operationmanual/10259_110073994_BDAL_SENSIQ_ENET_26_SPRACHEN.pdf How does the aux on the puck work? Is it a simple secondary switch so if the PIR turns on the puck triggers and as soon as the PIR turns off the puck will turn off? Of course the puck can be used in a normal way with Control4.
  4. Thanks for the info but it shouldn’t be that complicated and to be fair have no idea how to use the aux and led terminals. The puck has a constant live and neutral for power and a single switch live which toggles the lights on/off. When adding the PIR you are simply providing two different power options to the lights, puck or PIR. Scenario 1 - Puck switches on = lights on regardless of PIR state. Scenario 2 - Puck is off and PIR is in the off state = no lights on. Scenario 3 - Puck is off but PIR is in the on state = lights on. I think my issue is the PIR is detecting current in the live out when the Puck turns the lights on. This triggers the PIR relay to always on therefore meaning the lights never turn off. I need a diode to stop the current travelling into the puck from the live out.
  5. I am trying to use a Control4 puck to override a PIR and becoming a little stumped. My plan was to provide a live and neutral to the puck and then the switched live to the live out of the PIR. That way the PIR works as normal but you can override by switching the lights on with the puck. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work and when I turn the lights on from the puck the relay tiggers on the PIR meaning when I have turned the puck off agin the lights remain on and the PIR won’t seem to turn off. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
  6. I wanted this solution so went with Yale as my dealer had this integrated in their demo room. It turned out Yale updated their locks and removed the ability to have pin code entry. The new multipoint lock is now the Conexis L1. Unfortunately this model is not supported with Control4 and I am yet to find a way to get it to work. Very frustrating.
  7. No, there is no switch just a motion sensor which has gone faulty. I didn’t know if there was a single unit which would control the load and connect to C4. Instead it sounds like I need to replace the ceiling PIR and also fit a puck in parallel. That way I can turn the lights on and off with the puck and the motion sensor will always override if necessary.
  8. The circuit doesn’t currently have a switch so I suppose I would need to use a sensor and then C4 puck if I want to manually turn on/off?
  9. Odd question here, is there such thing as a motion sensor that works with Control4 and can be used as an on off switch? It’s for a porch and would be great if you could set it to motion sense but also override as an on/off switch too.
  10. Strange one here. I have a number of Apple TV’s running the new (replacement for iOS13) IP driver. I was watching something today and tried to use the Control4 app on my phone and tablet but was unable to control the Apple TV, however it works fine with my SR260 remote. Any ideas what might be wrong here?
  11. Any recommendations out there for a decent alarm system which integrates with Control4? I already have an alarm system which I would like to replace with something which integrates with C4.
  12. I have three playbars which I will leave as is and then multiple ceiling speakers. I would say 90% of the time the speakers are playing something from Spotify. Sometimes tunein radio but that’s it.
  13. I currently have sonos across the house with circa 12 zones. The integration with Control4 is not great mainly because you can’t pick music from Spotify etc which means I tend to use ipad’s for control4 although they are not as good as the c4 tablets. With the sonos announcement and having a number of amps which will be ‘legacy’, I was looking at alternatives. Any suggestions on whether I should just stick with sonos amps or move to something else?
  14. I have a Yale Conexis L1 which I got the Control4 module for only to find out it couldn't be loaded into the project and is not supported by Control4. I am unable to find anyone that has done it so I guess I need to go down an alternative route. Any recommendations for a Control4 approved multipoint lock?
  15. Has anyone managed to get a Conexis L1 integrated with Control4?
  16. Thanks all for the info. Do you know if there is anything which is of a similar size to the Nest doorbell which can use intercom anywhere?
  17. Has anyone managed integration between Nest Hello doorbell and Control4? I really don’t want to change to a DS2 but the lack of integration is annoying.
  18. So here is a photo of the dual load dimmer where you can see the LEDs are on even though there is electrical tape over the sensor. (Excuse the labels, engraved buttons haven’t arrived yet) I have also included a screenshot of the LED graph. What’s concerning is it shows current ambient at a maximum of 255 yet the electrical tape lets 0 light in.
  19. So I am testing it another dual load dimmer in a different room and I am getting the same issue. I have set the led's and backlight to be off in a dark room and I have put some electrical tape over the sensor so there is no light going through. Randomly the led's will just turn on and when looking in composer HE it is reading the light level at 255! Then the led's will turn off after a while. It is impossible to be reading any light because I have tape over the sensor. It's frustrating because the dual load dimmer which caused the issue is in a bedroom and the led's will just turn on at a random time in the middle of the night and with them being so bright it wakes me up. I have two wireless keypads in the same room which have no issues so it is only the dual loads which seem to have this issue... I am stumped.
  20. Bit of a strange one here with the light sensor on a dual load dimmer (square UK version). It is located in a bedroom so the led's are set to turn off in a dark room, however for some reason the led's decide to turn on when they feel like it. It can be in the middle of the night and pitch black and the led's will turn on to full brightness yet I have no idea why. I also have two wireless keypads in the same room which work no problem and the led's only turn on when there is light in the room. Control4 have replaced the switch but that has not solved the issue. Any ideas how to resolve or has anyone come across this before? Thanks
