safety1st
I only have one but it is there. We will get it up and running as it will replace our demo HC300. Why so skeptical? I was skeptical about the HC800s availability as well but we had one installed in time tor the NCAA Men's Finals and will be installing another unit for a different client in a few weeks. Maybe others are in the distribution systems as well...

safety1st
I've had my HC800 at home since Feb but I can't speculate because its not plugged in yet and I haven't played with a HC250 yet. If I was a betting man I'd put a wager on this situation.
CFUG
Current HC-200 units are positioned in low-demand areas of my house so unless those 200s croak, 250 is not that attractive IMO. Prices of used or EOL Control4 junk is so damn low you don't even really need to worry about any warranty unless the seller is a complete sleaze and those are easy to pick-out. safety1st
I was unaware. However I will resolve this situation by posting a picture of this unit in the AM. Our current HC300 is a fully functioning unit so I assume this is as well. Unless my laser eye surgery is failing me I do have a unit. Maybe I'm wrong and I will admit it if I am. Any wagers? RyanE
Just got our demo HC-250 from Fedex! safety1st
How will I know if it is a beta? It is currently slated to be displayed and functional very soon (not per me, but by the corp). Maybe I should contact our rep to discuss. It'll be hard to demo C4 if I can't show the customer the product!
RyanE
I'd ask your rep, since breaking the beta agreement is a bad thing. If your Control4 rep OKs it, I'd think you're in the clear.RyanE
safety1st
Will do and advise when I receive communication and the air is clear. For the record I'm not aware that we have been or ever will do beta testing. It is programmed and on display for any one that walks in to use. safety1st
Just got our demo HC-250 from Fedex! Anyone have one up and running yet?If you have a beta unit' date=' keep in mind that until it's officially released, you're not allowed to talk about the gear, other than in the Beta forums on forums.control4.com.RyanE[/quote']I feel its best if I with hold any further info even though I don't see an official hard street date. I can say I've never been a part of a product launch where I had the product (ex: the new iPad) in hand but was told I shouldn't speak of it. By Ryans terms I'm safe but got the feeling otherwise. When does Q2 start? I can't wait.
chesterwilson
Hopefully they switch back to the old IR. The IR on the HC-800 is not very good, I am actually using the HC-300 for IR output.
CFUG
^You mean stay with with what they orig. had on low-line controllers. I seriously doubt Control4 is that light-on-their-feet but what is wrong with the IR control? I can't imagine botching such a primitive control mode that has worked for decades. safety1st
What do you mean by not good? I plan to use rs232 or ip control where possible. The only issue we've ran into w the 800 we installed was getting the projector to respond. It was an easy fix w some delays.
chesterwilson
In my experience, the IR hangs on multiple commands (same driver works with HC-300), add that with the problems on launch and the slingbox disntegration and you wonder why fix something if it isn't broken. chicagoskiguy
My previous setup was 2 HC-300's running 1.74. I have noticed that since getting an HC-800, the "control" isn't as good. I'm not sure if it's the zigbee upgrade, the upgrade to 2.2, or something in the hc-800 (above mentioned IR maybe) which is causing this.

Perhaps if you still have your HC-300 you can have your dealer switch the connections for you.
