tmiller
I have seen a couple of articles put out now by C4 that indicated the users have programmed a "Clean" button that kicks off Roomba. Anyone know any more details on how they are initiating the cleaner to start its clean mode?
cvlboy
I don't have Roomba however I could think of 2 solutions. First, check and see if roomba has power failure resume, if it does, plug its power to C4 wireless switch outlet.Second, get the roomba with IR and use C4 to learn it.hope that help... cvlboy
looks like roomba also comes with serial commands... http://www.irobot.com/images/consumer/hacker/roomba_sci_spec_manual.pdfIf C4 driver isn't available, create your own Lua driver and hardcode those commands.. to the driver. C4RVA
The roomba series can be controlled with an IR remote. You can simply use an RF to IR converter to send IR commands to the roomba. I have this set up now.
RyanE
The serial control would require a connection to be made to the Roomba's serial port, which makes it pretty impractical to clean... IR blaster is the recommended way to do this.RyanE
