zaphod
My dealer is saying that the price was raised by $500 on Feb 1. This is in Canada.
zaphod
So is the MSRP $1000 in the US currently?
dgbrown
not sure about canada, however there is a $500 increase coming on April1 here in the statesAlso hearing the HC250 is going up as well. Both will include intercom and myhome licenses. C4 is getting out of the license business apparently.
ILoveC4
Makes me want to buy a few to put on the shelf...
chesterwilson
The C4 License road map is one big maze (individual license, drop the price, then sell a site license, and now bundle it unnecessarily).
Cyknight
What's been mentioned here is not incorrect - and there's a fair bit of buzz. I'm leaving it at that for the time being.
nikon
The new pricing model will include the site license and the intercom licenses. For new systems I can see this as good value especially for those looking for those features. For those looking to get the site and intercom licenses and you already have a system in place from my understanding you have until June 1 to purchase them individually from an authorized dealer. pstuart
And then they will release a 310 without licensing bundle and a 1100 as a central (no zigbee server) controller...
Cyknight
And then they will release a 310 without licensing bundle and a 1100 as a central (no zigbee server) controller...By which time we'll have the Ipad Micro4, now smaller than the iPod touch and the iPhone7 with a 12" screen. pstuart
You forgot the 12" screen comes with a hilt and a sheath and is razor thin and finally solves the program of people stealing iphones out of your hand by going on the offensive. It's called the iphone elite.
Cyknight
Yes, but Microsoft will be making the OS for them - so no-one wants to steal them to begin with.

I guess the only option after June 1 will be to buy a new controller (actually the same one that I have) and to recommission a mesh (if I ever decided to go the intercom route). Thanks for the extra road block C4. Keep your 800 that's running Zigbee Coordinator as zigbee coordinator and just put director on the new one with the license keys.
chesterwilson
^Because the old 800 will be sitting in someone else's home thanks to ebay.

zaphod
Ok, so there are answers flying all over the place. What is the current MSRP for an HC-800 and what do I get with that?
dogdvr
The current?999 and you get just the controllerBrent
Cyknight
May I suggest an HC 250Problem with that idea is that the controller would need to be the MAIN controller - or at least that's what it's looking like. It MIGHT work, but I've yet to get an answer to that very question.
chesterwilson
Wow, even the dealers don't know.
Cyknight
Keep in mind that this is as of yet talk of the future. As for the information as I have it - the new controller would need to be the main/registered towards your account. Anything else would be ... a workaround that may or may not function.

For those of us who have an 800 already with the site license, we will be fine. But if we want to add the intercom we would have to pay for a license. It's not like we would get that stuff for free. Control4 can track purchase date via controller address. So as far as I know, nothing will change for those of us who already purchased license ala carte. (Which is what they seem to be wanting to get rid of)Basically everything prior to the date it changes will be dealt with as it is now.
avittech
If you do not purchase yor intercom license by June 1st you will have to buy a new HC800 to get one. After June 1, 2013 dealers will no longer be able to order MyHome or Intercom Licenses.
