Cyknight
Sure you can, just keep in mind that if this is a room you'd use local sources like game systems you'd have to get all that wired back as well
mujtaba.khokhar
instead of atlona, maybe look into Wyrestorom Network HD?
mujtaba.khokhar
also be careful when using ubiquiti switches. they can be problematic at times and then be perfect too. i personally use cisco, either the SG350 or the SG500

These boosters aren't legal in the UK just in case anyone sees this thread in future!
WhyPhy
On 11/6/2018 at 1:08 PM, terminaldisclaimer said: Cool. That makes sense. Is it possible to centralize the 5.1 surround too? In other words, say you have 5 speakers + sub in your living room to handle DD5.1. Can those speakers be fed back to a multiroom audio system such that they would handle both 5.1 and whole home audio? Just curious really. You would a way to separately decode the audio into 2 different streams before sending it to the multiroom audio system. So 6 analog outputs for the 6-channel DD 5.1 audio from one decoder, and 2-channel output from the other decoder. The AV Pro Edge AC-AVDM-AUHD can combine multi-channel into 2-channel audio and also pass the original on to another device, such as an AV receiver, to decode 5.1 to the analog pre-outs. Or you could have 2 AV receivers, with the first one performing the first decode, and passing the original signal out of the HDMI Output to a second AV receiver. Either way, it's a complicated setup. I'm not aware of any single device that will simultaneously output analog multi-channel audio (5.1, 7.1, 7.1.4, etc.) and also separately output a 2-channel (all other channels combined) audio.
