tcwalker5 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Are there any recommendations for an in-wall outlet that can be controlled by C4? I see various z-wave options, but I don't have z-wave in my home.

There was an old driver at houselogix for unbiquti outlets but not sure if that driver is still supported. Or get a Vera plus hub and bring in zwave that way
tcwalker5 Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 Interesting. Do I need 1 dongle for my system, or one for each EA that I have?
Cyknight Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Only one is needed in principal. Much like ZigBee though, if the Zwave devices are far and few in between, it may be better or needed to utilize more than one.
tcwalker5 Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 My EA5 is on one side of the house so it definitely won't reach to where I need it to go. So if I add it to a EA1 closer the the desired outlet locations, do I need to add any special services or roles to the EA1? I assume the module driver would be all that is needed. Does the EA5 need one as well even if I don't intend to use Zwave nearby?
twmoonly Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 If your going to spend the money on an EA1 and Zwave dongle I would just buy a zwave hub and locate it where you need it. Will be a cheaper option. Vera Hub

No, it can just act as a zwave piece. Mind you if that is all you're going for, get a CA-1 instead. Cheaper and the module fits inside it vs needing an external usb dongle. 1 hour ago, tcwalker5 said: Does the EA5 need one as well even if I don't intend to use Zwave nearby? Nope.

Drake0508 Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Just installed 4 GE outlets with z-wave. I will let you know how they work as soon as I get them added. They were $9 each at Lowe’s on clearance.
Autosean Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 How did the GE plugs work out?Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Drake0508 Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 So far so good! For $9.99 on sale, can’t beat it. They also fixed my range issue with my Schlage door lock. It is an older version and not Z-wave plus so the distance from the module was far. Has worked perfectly since integrating them.
