I was wondering the same thing. Seems like the fingerprint scanners show up on their global website, but not their US website. Just speculating, but maybe it is not available in the US? Would be great to hear I am wrong!
Cyknight
5 hours ago, zaphod said: Why did they change their openers so that you can't use dry contacts? I have older openers and can still use relays directly wired to the opener, but apparently that no longer works on newer openers. They're MyQ - the opener no longer sends a relay trigger, but a voltage change or data in some other form (can't be bothered to dig deeper but it's one of the two) so you putting a relay overtop the terminals doesn't work, as it actually resets the motor. In some cases I'm told the motor may respond (maybe a safety override feature?) but it's not intended for constant use. So, find the pins on the board of the opener for the button you want to 'emulate' and solder to them. You can do it on an extra wireless device, personally I prefer to just go to the wired opener myself. Of course this is at your own risk - soldering it wrong may damage the product, and I doubt they'll warranty it.
antneed
I have the Genie Aladdin Connect for 2 garage doors and they work great.
R_Willis
Anyone know a brand that you can still hardwire directly to motor from controller relays? I have mine setup this way with magnetic door sensors for position, but my 19yr old Overhead Door brand opener has died. Menards carries Performax, but probably just a rebadged Chamberlain? oak1
Genie 6170 should still work with 12v relay. Both my installer, genie, and even manual says it should work. We'll see in a few weeks when my new garage door gets installed.
R_Willis
I went with Chamberlain and used the Garadget device. Works perfect. https://www.garadget.com/product/security-2-0-dry-contact-adapter/

The engadget piece is essentially a pre-done soldering of a single button (and yes that works - except that around here the not supported model is about 80% of what we come across....)
