New to Control4. Suggestion?

Hi everyone 

 

I'm new in C4 world. I'm installing this system in my new house to control home cinema,  window blinds, lights, and HVAC and theft protection.

Local dealer/installer will provide me EA1+SR260 .

 

I don't clear understand if I could install also some app on my 3 home tablet to control the system (in addition to SR260)

 

And, where can I find manuals/PDFs to understand C$ architecture and function?

There is indeed an app for Control4, available for Android and iOS (about half way down the page here https://www.control4.com/os3).

USER manual and info is limited, and mainly contained in some videos - really should be a matter of your dealer walking you through at least the basic functions initially.

As each system is more or less custom it is difficult to have a 'standard' user guide (though some dealers specialize in 'repeatable' packages and may have their own documentation for their 'standard' systems).

For the most part, a decent session (time will depend on the size and complexity of the system) with your dealer should get you going, and most things will fall into place quite easily and intuitively. Again that would be for your 'basic use' stuff.

Beyond that these very forums contain a wealth of knowledge on more advanced options/functions to consider, should you be interested. Or ask for specifics and you'll get answers.

Or just search for Control4 in the app store. Assuming it's a recent install, you'll want Control4 for OS3.

App is free, but note that you'll need your system's user account log in to get it set up (don't just create one, your system SHOULD already be registered - if you don't have the info, contact your dealer to get it)

Thank you for you precious information.

I know that it's a custom system so I have to sit side by side with my dealer and learn the way it goes. 

However, I wonder if there is a "basic": what am I allowed to change/create? (actions, scenarios, when/then...) Can Alexa be integrated in C4?

If you have 4sight you can use when/then to change programming fairly easily

And while your getting 4sight you may as well just get Composer HE which comes with a 1 year 4 sight included. Composer HE is windows based software to do some minor programming tweaks to the system.

I would agree with this statement fully if you change “minor” to “major” or “minor and major”

Minor programming? Other than bindings, Composer HE gives you full programming power.
