RAV
Have you checked building/safety codes? Seems like that wouldn't be allowed. Hasnat
mstafford388
What is your involvement in this? Are you the escalator guy? A Control4 dealer? What else would Control4 be doing there. The reason I ask is if it's just some motion activated escalators I don't think I'd involve Control4 products in that. There really isn't a blanket answer on this one, you'll need to work with the escalator company to figure out how to make this happen and what you can control on there end and how to control it. For what it's worth, if that is the whole scope I don't think I'd let my company get involved in that, and it is extremely rare that we turn down any kind of business. There just seems like too much liability and/or issues. Hasnat

I'm a Control4 dealer. the requirements came from the escalator guy. its a foot over bridge escalator. its a govt project. the following requirements are below: One point controlling system for escalator (by using mobile apps): 1. Real time view by using mobile apps /web-based CCTV camera of those escalator. 2. Remotely off/on by using mobile apps /web of those escalators. 3. Schedule turn on and off for those escalators by remotely configuration. 4. Auto start if there any passenger is near to the escalator. 5. If control off then auto start (no. 4) will not work able. 6. If counting passenger is possible the apply by camera. 7. Current status represent (ie. running or stopping status) by coloring Green/Red It will be the best for us if it will be controlled by the mobile apps. As per this requirements we are planning to go through Control4.
RAV
Could it be done, sure. I'd pass, the profit doesn't out weigh the liability. There's no referral work to be had. Just headaches, and you never walk away, there's ongoing 4sight and others networks and.... Hasnat
Matt Lowe
sounds like you need the right solution for the job. You will need to make sure the escalator team has the correct products and devices to keep the system up to local codes. That would not be your purview. Control of on or off could be very simple in that control just shuts off the power or activates a stop relay on the system. Otherwise all of the motion control would be controlled by the escalator system. you do not want to get involved with that. Then you could add camera system with people recognition and have a nice control4 interface. Be very clear in your design and the interface that you will provide and of course check local building code. Hasnat
Neo1738
Def not worth it in my opinion. This is NOT what C4 was intended for and if there is fault I highly doubt C4 would have your back for this use case. Either find a proper solution for the job or pass.
