Ive put in a handfull of the moen flo's with good results. Have also done an Elk motorized valve that was controlled via a Elk security panel which monitored water sensors. Id recomend the flo as it does flow monitoring as well as well as their leak temperature detectors and has Away/home modes which can be set through the c4 driver.

Do you want a controlled water valve?
Or a Smart water valve?

Controlled valve can be low or high voltage, relay controlled, and the Control4 system does all the smart stuff.
Smart valves (Moen, Sinope etc), use their own sensors, app shut off water as their app has it programmed, and then you may also be able to integrate with it for status and over rides.

Controlled, under $100
Smart, many hundreds

more expensive but: https://www.watercop.com/product/watercop-classic/

has documentation to work with C4 via relay - it has a built in ethernet I/O port so ethernet connection goes into the watercop then a few wires from the ethernet cables other end go into your Controller or Relay device.

no smart features, but it works (though it does require power).  you probably dont need it for your application but you can also get wireless water sensors to pair with it too.  and it works without any cloud/internet connections.

Good topic. We have a Flo for main shut off works perfectly integrated into C4. Funny though as I was just looking into this exact question for a project to add a water fill line into pool plumbing so don’t have to use a hose. Settled on this: Zodiac Jandy SOL100 1" Plastic Valve, 24V Solenoid with Flow Control https://a.co/d/1kBUPAc likely will trigger it with a 24v converter plugged into pool automation smart relay plus a Z2IO so C4 will see the feature has been activated. I know I could just use the Z2IO directly but want that pool automation connection and working around the limits of the Hayward OmniHub hardware we have - but this should do the trick

I'm looking into getting a water shut off valve for a water main.  Has to be 1/2 inch and either IP or Zigbee controlled.  I've already found a couple, but they are pricey and have features I don't really need.  Just need a simple one.

Good contenders: https://support.sinopetech.com/en/1.5.7.3 and https://www.moen.com/search/shutoff

Anyone here used one of these, or another one?

I have been using Sinope since it first came out. Have 5 water leak detectors also installed. Works great

I'm mostly using this in a greenhouse setting.  I have a Rachio with a bunch of Hunter solenoid valves connected to it to water the plants.  So the water detection and features of a lot of these isn't really needed.  I do very much appreciate your answer and input thought.  I'll take a look at Elk.   Thanks!

Hi, looking into both options.  I have a Rachio with some Hunter solenoid valves to water my greenhouse plants.  But I'm being asked to look into a water shut off valve for our main.  If there is one that is smart and cheap, that would be good.  Just putting feelers out there, as I'm certain its one of those situations where cheap and smart don't produce results.  Thanks!
