Control4 tablet/touch screen alternative

Hi, wondering if anyone has had any success/recommendations with an alternative tablet other than the one sold by Control4 (ie - Lonovo, Samsung, etc)? I need one which works with the intercom, which is the bug bear as it seems not many/any support the intercom feature.

Try using 

Smart Tab M8 with Google Assistant Android Tablet| 8 inch HD | 32GB | Smart Charging Station | WiFi | 2GB RAM | Iron Grey

We now replace the T3 with these when they fail 

We also have a Amazon Fire - Which after some playing about with now works with Intercom

There are ways to get intercom working on most of these tablets but it is a schlep

To be honest it works has good if not better than on the T3`s 

the Smart Tab - works out the box no messing about

Pretty God - The Video can be a bit off, compared to T3

For the Price - £75 - Its a Bargain 

The Amazon Fire - we need to mess about a bit - Video is only one way on that - Incoming

Just play with Resolution 

Need to make think its a Android Phone. 

Side load the Play Store, down load C4 and you will see Intercom doe not show  

However make sure intercom in on in setting - set up Linphone sip 

When the DS2 is pressed you get Video from C4 App - Its a bit of mess about

Hi Gary - I have a Lenovo M8 Tabs (TB-8506FS).  I can get the intercom working but it requires me to go portait with a lower DPI.  Sounds like you have had better luck "out of the box".  

 

Are you able to make/receive intercome calls with the Control4 app and the tab natively?  Or was there any additional configurations?
