  1. Great idea! Didn't realize they were so inexpensive!
  2. I'm in the process of adding another controller to my system as I have a rack that runs the house and 1 small rack that will run my theater only. Currently, the main rack has EA5 controlling the house and also an HC800 both of these controllers feed into 2 separate 8 zone C4amps (2 audio streams to each amp). My plan is to move the EA5 to the theater to control that area, use a Core5 to run house house, and then get rid of the HC800. What is the difference in performance of the EA5 vs. Core5 for speed? Since I have over 100 devices in my system, will the Core5 be better for overall performance for the entire house taking the load of what the EA5 is doing now? (I don't notice lag though I know a CA10 would be beneficial I'm trying to keep cost down with the building of the theater right now) How can I continue to have 2 audio streams to each C4 8zone amp since the Core5 only has 3 audio outputs with RCA cables (the C4 8zone amps don't have digital audio inputs).
  3. Oops I meant there are 2 Ethernet posts on wall which I use. All of my TV's are by Ethernet only never wifi
  4. I actually sent the TV back as it was turning on by itself randomly and I had checked every single setting on the TV from top to bottom (no ON timer, HDMI CEC off, not connected to anything else, etc). I disconnected WiFi and ethernet thinking maybe something was pinging the TV to wake up and it still would power on randomly..... so I sent it back hence why I had started another thread about a cheapy 43" TV from Sams
  5. It has a ethernet port x 2 behind the TV. It's more or less to replace the 720p TV that was in place to allow maximum resolution of the matrix that feeds it so I don't need anything fancy.
  6. I'm looking at adding a cheapo 43" TV (basically Sams Club or Costco type) to a bathroom and just wondering if the above TV can be controlled by C4 over ethernet. Is there a specific driver for this TV as I don't see one listed with Control4. If there is, what is the name of the driver?
  7. And last question, but when the switches are added for these older switches, is the driver the same for the older switches (LSZ, SW1, and SW2)?
  8. Is the 101 newer or order than SW1 or SW2? I'm planning on keeping the newest one for my ceiling fan application
  9. So I have that installed and identified but I don't see any Watch option for that TV in the room and that driver doesn't seem to have way of binding the TV to the room as the source to WATCH. Does this driver function like a TV source?
  10. So are all 3 switches basically the same or is there any difference as far as newest (even though all are no longer made) model? I'm trying to decide what to keep and what to get rid of
  11. I have several older switches that I've taken out of my project once I moved to my newer home and had to use keypads in place to control multiple things. I have several of the above switches and wondering what the actual difference is between these as far as newest or oldest versions. I'm planning on using 2 of them for 2 different ceiling fans understanding there is no speed control which I've done previously when I just want a ceiling fan on or off.
  12. Has there been any update on getting a long press function on this? I would settle for a separate button (such as "*" or the "#/-") being programmed for this..... Doesn't really make the C4 driver fully functional as I still have to use the NVIDIA remote to do some basic menu adjustments and even selecting network files to watch...
  13. I just purchased a Amazon FireTV for a bathroom and wondering what driver is used for this. There appear to be 2 drivers: 1) Fire TV (ADB, OS2) - mediaplay_ip_amazon_fire.c4z 2) Fire TV - FireTV.cz4 Which would be the appropriate driver for the newer 43" Amazon Fire TV?
  14. I'm looking to puchase a new streaming media player for my theater to be completed hopefully within this next month. 120" screen with Sony 4k projector. Currently, I have 2 NVIDIA Shield media players which are excellent and rock solid. I'm just wondering if there is anything newer/better that I'm not aware of for media. I am aware of the Firestick (I have 2 of these on bedroom TVs) and the Roku players (not a fan of not being able to use Kodi on these). Any recommendations on a streaming media player or just go with another Shield as it doesn't appear NVIDIA has changed/updated much with this in awhile.
  15. That did the trick! Audio is now working after updating Triad one to system firmware
  16. I bet that is the issue now thinking of the time table as it was taken offline 8 months ago for move and now just put back online! Thanks for the direction! I will keep you posted!
  17. Is there a way to push an update just to a single device without updating the entire system? I'm still holding off on the latest OS until I replace my HC800
  18. If the amp is connected to the Control4 system (online) shouldn't it update automatically if needed? The amp might have been 1 firmware update behind since I moved and didn't have it set it yet.
  19. I'm having some trouble getting my Triad One amp streaming into an office room at home. I used to have it streaming in my old house but finally got around to hooking up in new house. I have it hooked up only to Ethernet and it's online in Control4, bound to audio output endpoint 1 and audio volume 1. It has same sources as my regular 8 zone amps. It appears to be playing in room when looking at on screen display but no sound in room. Everything appears connected as it used to be but can't figure out what I'm missing to allow sound...
  20. How do you like the 8x8 Blackbird? I did have the original 4x4 Monoprice long ago and it would drop signals occasionally where I'd have to disconnect the HDMI and restart to apparently overcome handshaking issues
  21. I'm looking at upgrading my current matrix to a 4k matrix that will be based in a rack for in home distribution. Basically up to 8 rooms total. My current situation I have a few AVPro baluns which work quite well over in home cat5 cabling. Does anyone have experience with the Blackbird matrix line from Monoprice? Seems you can't go wrong on the price which also includes the baluns. Just wondering how solid this is as well as how it plays with Control4. http://enews.emails.monoprice.com/q/5yHrDILbErzeULWL0XdhWEtHhciwKrEyt5EPZcOJZHJtYXJrMTJwYUBhb2wuY29tw4hGQSBBbGVydHNcUHJvZHVjdCBMaW5rIFVSTMOJaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubW9ub3ByaWNlLmNvbS9wcm9kdWN0P3BfaWQ9Mzk2NzDDiAHyUNDi48cKzfBCM-dUZlYBchDw
  22. Or another option would be to use the wireless on the EA1 or and EA3 so as to not use up an ethernet port behind the TV? I have always had all of my controllers (have EA5, HC800, and 2 EA3s) but have always used them in wired configuration never used the wireless option....
  23. I'm looking at the back of the EA1 series and I see conflicting pictures where one has ethernet in only and other pictures with ethernet in and ethernet out. I would like to have something that allows ethernet "passthrough" so to speak so I don't have to use up one of my ethernet connections behind the TV as it is now.
  24. I would go direct but these are 2 floors apart which is why I'm using the balun in the first place. I already have to buy a new controller to replace the now obsolete HC800 so would rather not buy another controller for each TV I'm connecting to my matrix.
