  1. Can a C4 controller output an IR signal that can be sent over an HDMI balun that has IR input/output?
  2. Just wondering how I obtain the SDDP address as I apparently need to this to have C4 control my rack Shield. The driver is all installed and I know the format is significantly different than using IP address but no idea how to identify. Below is the format my living room Shield has but not sure where this ID can be found for my rack Shield. nvidia:shield-uuid:670e6b94-a1f4-4326-b5a0-ebfc23xxxxxx
  3. What sort of application would this be used for?
  4. I'm curious what the DECORA 0-10V DIMMER C4-TV120277 would be used for. Could this be used for traditional lighting (ie 3 ceiling can lights using LED bulbs that draw 10w) or would it not work for this application as a typical dimmer would be used?
  5. I think it's more than fair to ask for basic things such as alphabetizing which should have been implemented years ago. Any user who is using programming will be utilizing these features, not every user has color lighting or knows anything about proxies, etc. Going through a list of macros and Voice Commands in Composer that is completely random seems very dated. If the new OS is not able to support old code/hardware to run equipment then the new code/hardware should be able to address this code change as well. I personally have no interest in the items you mentioned but would readily welcome better organization in Composer. Right now, Composer seems a bit behind the times when you can't even organize certain lists in Composer to find what you need without scrolling through an entire list. Yes I have emailed Control4 about this previously.
  6. So if C4 is upgrading their controllers, why can't they alphabetize the macros, Voice Scenes, etc.... ? It seems odd that if everything is such a big change as to EOL a controller, the least that could be done then is allow alphabetizing of some of these items in programming. I don't think that is asking too much if I'm going to be spending several thousand dollars on a new controller. I don't think that would be asking too much. If they do a significant enough revamp that makes something as complex as audio streaming I would think alphabetizing should be something in the capability of the engineers involved. Every firmware update I'm always waiting to see this fix but for some reason it hasn't materialized.
  7. Am I missing them on the website? Controllers (control4.com)
  8. Also, has there been a release date set for the CORE controllers and pricing? I was going to get another controller for my new theater area but now go with a CORE controller and shift my EA5 to theater.
  9. I don't mind losing functionality with OS updates was just hoping to use the basic functions of RCA outs even if everything else on the HC800 was bricked.... almost like a passthrough more or less. One question I did have is with the addition of Zwave drivers. Does this allow for the use of Zwave devices such as Monoprice Z-Wave Plus Series 700 Door/Window Sensor - Monoprice.com (as an example) for cheaper sensors for simple functions? I don't have any Zwave devices and haven't used anything with this technology yet. Just wondering if some low priced sensors could be added to the system easily.
  10. Emotion yes... I'm mad I have to ditch a perfectly working controller that does nothing more than send audio to an amplifier if I ever want to upgrade every other C4 piece of equipment I have. There is a difference between not functional and obsolete. I could still listen to audio using a Windows 95 computer if I wanted to but won't be able to listen to audio with HC800 any longer? It's RCA left and right out... If C4 is so advanced in their development it would seem easy to discontinue certain functionality as they already did previously with the HC800 on screen display. Logic no, with all of the upgrades, why isn't there some focus on some basic functions such as simply alphabetizing the macros, scheduler events, and Voice Scenes??
  11. Maybe instead of focusing on dropping a controller they could have alphabetized the Macros
  12. Why would I change out something that works perfectly fine for the function it's being used for now? Simple audio outputs doesn't seem like a reason to ditch an entire controller. Perhaps just disallowing certain functionality I can understand but basic control of audio out?
  13. So for $1000 I can replace my HC800 to have multiple audio out with the EA3 with no change in function.... and no more upgrades to every other component in my system (>60 lights). So next up when C4 decides to "upgrade" perhaps the light switches and dimmers I have, it won't allow my system to upgrade either so new switches and dimmers will be needed to provide the same function. Seems like a scam Control4 would pull..
  14. Still seems like a lame hit to consumer when it's a basic streaming device function and have to buy new controller just to mimic identical function seems like a cash grab. If I wanted additional functions/speed I would buy a new controller but for what it's being used for there is no reason to buy a new controller. Now I'm forced to buy a new controller. Minus 1 point for Control4......
  15. So I will have to my HC800 removed completely or unable to update my system? Wow... that is pretty lame on part of C4. I use my HC800 in rack specifically for streaming music to my C4 amps only and nothing else. This means I have to get rid of a controller I purchased new and buy a new controller that will essentially do nothing different?
  16. Nothing at all has changed. I frequently would have to switch it to web IP then back to simple IP to get Simple IP to work again but that no longer works. I have a static IP address set via router and it's wired by cat5 nothing else connected to TV at all. WebIP works for simple C4 commands but some of the cooler fighting( ie screen off only) does not
  17. Looks like IP control issue have returned. I have Simple IP checked in tv and via Control4. I have to switch back to web control too get it to work but then lose several functions. I've tried everything siding back and forth and nothing is getting Simple IP to work again
  18. Looks to have been a Verizon issue as I had over 100 alerts come through in about a 3 hour window
  19. As of Saturday I'm no longer receiving notifications from my LUMA NVR. I can successfully send a test email to my email but not text message or any actual motion events. Nothing at all has changed (I was away on vacation when it stopped) and when I go into NVR to test sending message to my phone and email, the tests succeed. I'm not sure if this is an outage and of course LUMA has zero customer service whatsoever (I wouldn't recommend going with LUMA ever again based on that alone). Have there been any known outages of service?
  20. So I've ordered buttons for my new house in contemporary style and with that you receive color top and bottom bars as well as a clear bottom bar. I use the old plates that screw on as were in the house and just buy colored plates to match the buttons that I've done colored. I'm just wondering if the clear bottom bar is supposed to be used for the light bar and looks rather silly with a long thin clear gap look. I'm assuming based on my reading here that you pretty much have to buy new plates from Control4 to make this look pretty but that doesn't address when you have 2,3, or 4 gang plates that you need.....
  21. I was having trouble adding new voice commands to my Epic driver the other day but I'll have to recheck it today. Also, I did notice when I go under commands to delete, they are no longer in alphabetical order which isn't the end of the world but makes it far more difficult to find the correct command to delete.
  22. Excellent document... Luma doesn't seem to keep their faqs up to date and customer service is total crap for any end user I've found.
  23. David found the issue with not discovering as my previous LIFX driver was interferring... The updated driver with 3.3 is outstanding! I'm using lighting scenes now for groups of lights and will be excited to use these for holiday colorings. The best part of this driver is the speed. I do have my 260 remotes programmed so hitting the red button notches down the brightness to the point of OFF.... basically the response time is immediate. Haven't seen that speed in any other way of controlling LIFX other than the actual LIFX mobile app. Highly recommend this driver is you have LIFX bulbs
  24. I can't seem to get my LIFX lights to be discovered with updated driver
  25. Can someone post a picture of this "color wheel" or where exactly it's located as I have no idea where this shows up and I have 3.3 with LIFX bulbs as well.
