I have Cat6 run to my bedroom/TV location, I'll buy a 50" TV this November during Black Friday. Probably a Samsung for ~ $400 so not sure if that will get me a LAN port. So if I want to have capability to play a BluRay located across house in a rack will a balun provide that? How do I control the disk - does this require an EA1 in the bedroom that communicates back to the EA3/homebase or is a C4 remote in the bedroom (+ balun) all I need to use a BluRay located in the rack?

Yeah, could just be luck. Once I started looking I found a listing from someone moving out of country and selling 3 of the in-ceiling ones ... recently sold.

I have a single Silver/6 LCR inwall speaker I'm going to use for one of my front channels and am looking for another preowned one. If anyone also has the in-ceiling Silver LCR I'd be interested in that also - it's the one that fires down at a 45 deg angle. I'm going to put the Left/Right speakers in the wall, on both sides of the TV, but I'm putting the center channel up in the ceiling above the TV aiming down toward the coaches. Use is a Great Room, not a dedicated Home Theater.

Battery or wired? My quote for 5'x6' wired are about $1200/shade.

My current plans are to get the 8-zone Triad PAMP & Matrix for new home build. I'm sure I could spend less or more but at this point I'm thinking it's a good quality solution. I'd like to get feedback from those with experience of other amp/matrices - do you consider this middle of the road or recommended option for multi-zone audio, and why? I could save quite a bit by buying pre-owned C4 components from eBay but am leaning toward the new eqmt from my Integrator. I appreciate your input.

I'd like the following features: Motion detection - have choice to be notified (App/alarm). Recording 24/7 by all cameras (<16) Ability to view live at anytime. Preferably within C4 app so I can watch on TV/iPad/iPhone. Based on above top priorities, what are good options (i.e. reliable, well integrated) on the affordable end? I don't necessarily mean cheap - if you lined up options that met those requirements who are 3 to check out? I'm new to this area and am familiar with SnapAV/Luma because an Integrator has recommended it.

Can you explain a little more on how this works? I’m a few months away from completing my home build and the August lock has been on my radar for about two years, before I begin building. I like the stealth look and how it doesn’t add any clutter to the front entry door. But now that I decided C4 is what I want to use for home automation, I don’t know how well it integrates with the whole system-what are the limitations and what does it do well?

Thanks for the info - but that's a downer, I thought (hoping) this would provide what I wanted but be a cost reduction. I mis-read somewhere that the multi-button seeTouch would work. I probably read multi-button scenes and just assumed that mean seeTouch, but it was referring to the Pico scene Controls.

Right now my thought is this would be the desired path - from what I've read on the Lutron site, and on forums, is I would get the same functionality as RA2 but at a lower total cost. Since I plan on using C4 for home automation I don't need a lot of the functionality of a stand-alone RA2 or Homeworks system since C4 will take care of decision making. I'll still be able to use the RA2 multi-button seeTouch Keypads and other architectural options for primary areas, but lower cost Picos (and setup) in areas such as kids rooms/bathrooms/laundry/etc. And initial installation should be drastically reduced. I'm not sure if the Integrator I've been working with will view this as a money loss or see the big picture as more future business. He started off with Savant as my solution, but it didn't seem like a good value or offer anything that C4 can't do (but does have nicer interface). So from his sales perspective it's been lowered from Savant to RA2 to perhaps RA2-select.

I have been leaning towards RA2 lighting for a new build, to be controlled by C4. I will use a few six button keypads for the busy locations such as kitchen and master bedroom/bath. RA2-Select now has me intrigued from a cost reduction standpoint ( i'm quite sure the house will exceed my planned cost ). Does anyone know if this will integrate with C4 just as cleanly as RA2 ... specifically, will I be able to create the same type of scenes?
