  1. Did you also add the Alexa device you are trying to do it with to that room?
  2. I created an experience button that when pressed turns on mockupancy and if alarm turns off or I click button it turns off mockupancy. Works well. You choose what lighting scenes and AV stuff you want to integrate.
  3. I think in general more sorting in composer would be nice.
  4. You would need to do it as a advanced lighting scene. You create a lighting scene in agents name it (Voice Scene Keypad) or something you will recognize. You don't add any lights to the scene but in programming you do "when scene invoked" and program the led's from there. Could tie in a macro to run the music playing etc to that lighting scene as well.
  5. You have to create the room in Alexa, then add that device to that room and the blinds to that room. I think then it will work.
  6. Hard part is what you're using to render the plex videos. I find even with a very strong gaming rig (1200k, 3080ti, and ssd) my computer SOMETIMES has trouble rending full quality blue ray. I probably haven't optimized it (maybe someone here knows what I'm missing) but feel that's a struggle. Could also be my player (using roku to play and PC as server). I think K-scape is a great option to not have to rip movies.
  7. Just checked I have a Dyson TP01 sorry.
  8. Sorry I must have newer/more advanced model w Wifi. If only has IR than an IR blaster and maybe learned commands? Might need IR Blaster and someone willing to write a driver w the proper IR codes.
  9. I think like everything it matters on what is important to you. For example we initially didn't do automatic blinds in the upstairs bedrooms and quickly added them after (luckily my installer preran a bunch of extra cat5e into the attic). Also if you do whole home audio I think video distribution is a very nice to have. I can play my show and if I need to run to another room for a couple minutes I quickly add the audio to the zones and I'm off. I can listen to the TV in any room. We also have a large kitchen and den off the kitchen, without adding the kitchen zone to the den zone I couldn't hear the TV from the kitchen. I never thought I would need motion sensors but man you put them in the right spots (especially stairs, bathrooms, etc) and it's so convenient. Also we do when night time the light turns on to like 25% so you don't get blinded at night. Works so well when integrated properly. I think some form of voice is helpful (alexa turn on breakfast, dinner, cooking, entertain, etc) is so quick and easy. I can get lights on without taking stuff out of my hands and walking to the TS or my phone or a switch. Bond bridge only necessary if you have devices that don't integrate to C4 naturally and do work with bond. I also agree in the end that AV integration and being able to combine all the features (lights, AV, shades, door locks, etc) into 1 automation is pretty sweet. Doorbell pressed, pauses my tv changes input to the NVR doorbell cam, if night turns on lights to the front door, turns porch light from 30% (normal night mode) to 100% on a timer to go back after 5 min etc. If "bedtime" is active doorbell does not turn all that on just goes through the phones and TS as normal.
  10. I have one too, I think the easiest way is to use Alexa and get a webhooks driver to integrate them. Basically you create a web api call for the alexa command you want it to do (turn fan on/off etc) and do that. Currently I just use the built in scheduler from Dyson and then use Alexa to turn it on/off at will. Also have the phone app I can use.
  11. I would simplify this to no end. ? When listen XM/music/etc is selected in room set led to blue ? When room is turned off set led to black If you want a different color depending what you have selected music wise other than 1 color for on/off you can use room control. When music 1 (XM channel x) is selected blue When music 2 (Pandora) is selected purple When music 3 (XM channel y) is selected green When music 4 (room off) is selected black You get the idea. Room control driver lets you go through I think 5 or so on a "cycle" ie you press the button and goes from 1-5 back to 1 (plus or minus room off in between if you want).
  12. I get that it's not ideal but in the time it takes to write a few posts here you will be done. Took me like a year to finally do some routines to stop saying "Alexa, turn on kitchen shades up" vs "Alexa, kitchen shades up". I have no clue (other than stubborness and thinking "this is ok" why I waited so long. So much easier.
  13. I had this problem a few times on my android and usually closing and rebooting (not just minimizing but actually closing the app) would fix.
  14. Do you have the Amazon Alexa Voice Scene driver in C4? Dealer has to add it not built in functionality.
  15. If you have the alexa account linked to your c4 account should show automatically after a little bit.
  16. To just arm you do a lighting scene in composer but don't attach any lights to the scene. Just program if scene activated do xyz. Can program to arm. Then instead of having to say "Alexa, Turn on alarm on" you can go to routines in your alexa app and program "Alexa, Turn on the alarm" to refer to that c4 scene. I agree w others though don't program a way to turn off the alarm via Alexa. Openweather for weather. I have it set if precipitation is >0 and temp <34 turn on outlet for heated mats on porch. Starts a 24 hr timer, at end timer checks again if no prec or temp above 34 turns off, if below restarts 24hr timer. Works a treat.
  17. Agree with most of what was said. Voice is not as useful for me for AV unless I can say "Turn on Master Neflix to xyz" and it just goes there. Or "Turn on ESPN on master tv".
  18. That makes much more sense. Guess I just take better care of my stuff than most
  19. I would disagree that remotes are "consumable" devices. They should last 10-15 years without serious malfunction. Basic TV remotes have been working for longer than that. Now ones with built in batteries might need battery replacement but the remote itself shouldn't need replaced unless you want to replace it.
  20. With so many IP driven things I don't think it would be helpful. I do think adding some sort of native Rf and BT control of devices would be awesome.
  21. I do think for SR260 you could allow HE people to add only certain drivers that are C4 approved and won't crash system. If a C4 driver is crashing someone's controller.......well let's just say C4 would have much much bigger issues. Maybe allowing people to add C4 made drivers would be a good 1st place to start.
  22. I set my auto renew up on the customer portal while back.
  23. Pico can be done but programming is a pain. Have to program in both Lutron and C4 but not intuitive.
  24. If you get a NVR with HDMI out and use distribution of video sources you can do this. Otherwise will need something that integrates directly.
