  1. I’m glad for this topic, as I complain all of the time that the LISTEN side of the Navigator is less than desirable for how far along this technology is. I don’t like that I have to pick up my phone to play Spotify and searchng for music via Amazon Music Unlimited and Pandora just isn’t great. I’m going to try Tidal, as they have a fairly large catalog and it allegedly integrates the best (considering its native, it better). Does anyone have any screenshots of Tidal in Navigator? Thanks! 2. Thanks so much. I follow your posts and you’ve been very helpful. I can tell by your posts that you’re very knowledge, so thank you for sharing with the forum. I don’t mind having to add an AVR. I have a 6mo old Denon X3500 I am about to retire for a 13.2 channel X8500 in my Living Room/Media Room. So that’ll be available for up to 7.1. And it’s all already extended from a rack room over high-end AVPro Edge AC-EX100-444-KITs at 18gps for HDMI, ARC, Optical, plus 3 Cat6a onboard, but is Triad the best wireless solution? I wonder about HEOS for example? Regardless of what it ends up being, seamless 100% C4 integration is critical. Haha - get ready to see a massive amount of Sonos in the FS section of the forum. 3. So I should unhide Sonos in the navigator? What is best practice to show or hide? I have the following streaming services. One room is Sonos, the other is Denon. ...and where should I grab the stream? (Denon, Roku, EA5 (native in the Director, right? Spotify Amazon Prime Music Pandora Sirius I need all of these in each room. I guess I want to know how to get the best quality sound in each room. Obviously, the Sonos is challenging me in that room. As mentioned, it’s tuned to enhance dialogue for video and not tuned fir music. Here’s how far I will take this... I’m willing to ditch Sonos. I have a time of money in it, but I also am a C4 Koolaid drinker. What about Triad, HEOS, etc. I will always be running Denon and/or Marantz as my main AVR (Living Room). 4. Good luck with everything. If you do end up with going the EA5 direction, which makes the most sense, there are 2 reputable guys here that have them for sale. PM me if interested and I’ll send you their contacts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Solved. Added. Work seamlessly. Thanks@msgreenf - you never fail me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I am streaming music to two zones. One has a Sonos 5.1 setup. Here’s my question: If I use c4>Listen>Spotify (or really any source - but Spotify requires a phone or another way to access). I get the Sonos tv profile sound (dialogue enhanced). If I choose my same zone Sonos Connect in the Spotify app... the sound is optimized for music. Is there a programming issue, work around etc, to let Sonos know when I’m on the C4 listen menu sources, it needs to use the Sonos music profile? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. On this one, Google isn’t my friend. It doesn’t look like they’ll work with Alexa native. I’m about to call Kwikset When will you have time to add them and my HUE hub? I can at least get those in my setup until I finish the garage and Fireplace. I was the guest speaker at my dealer’s Friday morning sales meeting yesterday. We’re going to be doing a quarterly swap/meet, knowledge share, etc. Pretty good stuff. I’m about to have full access to Composer etc and a crash course to hold me over until I can carve out vacation time to go to C4 to train. They just got a new C4 rep and he’s needing to go to training with me. So, the goal is I can admin this new Western PA group. We talked about you and they would very much consider having you consult for a fee. They are launching a C4 subscription service for their C4 clients. It’ll give them 1 hr of remote support a month, a 2hr onsite tech visit a year and a 1 hour update/consult a year for $499 or $49/mo. It will also cover network issues (most of their installs are Packedge and the likes). You could maybe decide to cover some hours or consult with their techs at your leisure. I like the new group of owners. They’re young guys that see the future. Right now, they’re burdened by an older owner that hasn’t embraced the paradigm shift from A/V to automation. He’s a great guy, but old school audiophile. Someday, we’ll look at our old posts and laugh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks guys. I guess I was confused since they’re already in the project. Mitch - This is what I meant when I mentioned “clean up” a few weeks ago. As for Alexa native control? Any idea on these Kwiksets, Mitch? I have to add a HUE hub this weekend and depending upon how much time I end up having at home, I might add my fireplace relay and even the garage door hardware. (Both C4-Z2io). Maybe if I get that all done, I can ask you to add all of that Mitch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi All - I’m trying to add 2 - C4 Zigbee locks to my system. Kwiksets are already showing in the system, (since at the time of my original setup my integrator thought he was adding the correct Kwickset zigbee format locks), but I’m not sure how to get them to recognize. I have tried pressing the A button 4x and it’s not seeming to work. Any thoughts? Also, do these Kwickset zigbees work with Alexa (native) like my existing Kwickset zigbees? Or are the C4 versions not compatible? I hope that wasn’t confusing. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’m going to order the DSC Neo with keypads. Here’s what I’m understanding. If I arm the system via its native keypad, I can program my director to do certain things if it sees the system has been armed, away, stay, vacation etc. I’d sure like the alarm’s native touchpad to do certain things outside of “arming & disarming)”. I’m not going to waste the money putting T3’s at my doors. I have them at other critical points throughout the home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. @LollerAgent , @cyknight & @eggzlot Which alarm are you guys running? And it's most likely asked and answered here... what integrates best? I believe I am down to DSC Neo/Interlogix Concord. I am scrapping the T3 idea at the doors, does it matter which keypad I use for one of these 2 systems, I think I have choices. If C4 will allow me to program simply be device state and not so much "per button push" on these keypads then I am fine. ie: "when armed", when unarmed, do this or that etc, I am fine.
  12. @eggslot - if I can do a lot of that with the DSC or Interlogix Keypad, then I can avoid a T3 at the front door? I just don't know the capabilities of the alarm system keypads from one vendor to the next. Will an alarm keypad (and which one is most integratible) do the following? 1. Arm system 2. Lock all doors and check garage door to make sure it's closed. 2 Turn off All Lighting 3. Turn off all Zone TV's, fireplaces etc. 4. Set thermostat to away mode On another note : Can I tell my system when no gps signatures are present in the home to arm the system and lock the doors? Right now through the Caseta hub, I have a lighting scene that triggers when my phone comes within range of the home. I think I can add unlocking the Kwiksets in the Lutron app.
  13. This is excellent information@Cyknight. Thank you! I like the Neo too. Dawn uses the Concord and loves it. So, to take it further... Can I use the T3 as if it were the keypad? (Use only the security systems controller and sensors, etc). I need 2 keypads. I was maybe going to do 1 & 1. I do know about the sensor delay, and that’s not feasible for lighting. I don’t need them for security, that was just a bonus. So I can run Hue or TP motion sensor lighting scenes? I have a Hue hub and TP driver in my System already. Or should I look at the C4 or NYCE? I know there are many more. Trying to get a cat friendly solution. Lastly, with one of your recommended systems, can I use their keypad to do away scenes or routines through my EA5? (Press arm, lock doors etc)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’m hoping for some advice on a new wireless security system. I have researched DSC and Interlogix. I know that a well-respected member has personal experience with integrating a Interlogix Concord platform system. I do like the Interlogix Simon XTi-5, but can’t find real great integration information. Here’s my question, (and full C4 integration is a must, so much that I want to use a C4 touchpad in lieu of the security systems keypad). Can I use a C4 touch wall pad at my front door when leaving to arm the system, control an HVAC scene, a lighting scene, locking my C4 Kwickset locks, assuring my garage door is closed, etc). I also want to use the motion sensors for dual purposes (ie security when away, but triggering lighting when I am home). I obviously want to use my remotes or the C4 app and OSD fir the same. Has anyone had direct experience with this? What system did you use? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Does anyone have access to WX-1 Wall or In-Ceiling Mounts? Thanks!
  16. Update: I have been researching and gathering items in an attempt rebuild a solid stable robust network environment for my C4/AV/Automation. This will be my setup (quite a step up from an Orbi Mesh System that I was so darn excited about! - live and learn) and what I have sourced so far. Internet Provider: Comcast Xfinity Service: Gigabit Modem: NETGEAR - Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem Router: Pakedge RK-1 Switch: Pakedge s24p8 24 Port Gigabit 8 Port PoE with SFP WAP: (4) Pakedge WX-1 Cabling: CAT6A Still researching NMS, but I should have BakPak and I assume that’s all I should need. Am I missing anything? I possibly could use another switch, so would I be able to use my existing D-Link 24 Port Gigabit Switch (DGS-1024D) for less critical connections? I don’t expect I will have the most current, best network. But I’m hoping what I will have should be solid, stable and fairly robust. It’s been a minute since I’ve really had to think about a “network”. I can remember setting up a few NetWare network in the late 80’s. It’s very intimidating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Followed those instructions. I’ve got it working. But... I have all of these dups in Alexa. Maybe I should just ignore them. Everything is responding and more, so unless there’s a real good reason, I’m going to leave it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Working through this Matt. In System Manager, the DNS servers are all set up correctly. These are marked with a circled red x indicating it’s not using DHCP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Not sure what happened there. Thanks Matt. Unfortunately, while the C4 connections and Caseta Bridge Connections do show up, the C4’s all report “Server is Unresponsive”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks Matt. Unfortunately, the C4 connections show up, but they’re all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ok, good. That’s what I had hoped Mitch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Sorry Mitch. I misunderstood you and did it the opposite way (disabled the Lutron bridge from talking to Alexa). Now, if I do it the way you just suggested, will I still have C4 control over these? Will they still be part of my C4 ecosystem? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My Alexa is discovering my devices in duplicate. For example, all of my Lutron Caseta switches are being discovered via the Lutron Bridge and via C4. If I delete the Lutron version, I seem to lose Alexa voice control. This could be that I’m not asking Alexa properly. I also have my single Nest doing the same, Kwikset locks, etc. The Nest features are limited in C4, so not sure which to delete. The Kwiksets are in my C4 project, though they are the wrong zigbee version and don’t work, so they are showing up at least twice too. (Not sure why actually 3 times fir one of the locks). Should I turn off the Alexa feature in the Lutron App? Will I still have voice control if these are all being added to Alexa by C4? This is not a C4 question, but I have very old TiVo devices showing up in Alexa even after deleting them on the Alexa site and in the app. I don’t even own these devices any longer. 24. Resolved. Not sure how, but no longer getting the error. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
