  1. I agree. Shouldn't matter. Just trying to narrow down any variables. The part that bothers me is that the movie shows up in the Control4 app as the Airplay streaming media, but still no sound.
  2. Is your Apple TV one of the later models? I just ordered an external Airplay 2 receiver (made by Belkin). Amazon had a "like new" one for a little over 50% of a new one, so I grabbed it. I will use it as an input to the EA-3 and see if that works. Thanks for trying it out on your system!
  3. I am having a weird issue and am hoping for some input. Right now, I have an EA-3 output audio to a Parasound amp to provide audio on my back patio. In planning to do some outdoor movies, I was going to use an Apple TV outside as the source for a projector and then would use Airplay from the ATV to the EA-3 for the audio (using the patio speakers for the movie). However, when I set up the ATV to output audio to the Control4 Airplay, and select Airplay in the Outdoor room, I do not get any sound, although a picture of the movie or song I am streaming does show up on the Control4 app. However, if I Airplay a song to the EA-3 from my iPhone, the music comes through fine. What am I missing? I know the Control4 controllers have Airplay 1 and not 2, but since the C4 app is showing the movie being played, I would think it is going through. Also, if I cannot get the C4 Airplay to work, can I plug an external Airplay 2 receiver into the audio input of the EA-3 and use it as a different audio source through C4? Thanks
  4. Bluesound is another company that makes wireless speakers. While I use a Node (and not a wireless speaker), it has excellent integration with C4. The Pulse M has preset buttons on top (like my Node does). https://www.bluesound.com/wireless-speakers/ https://www.bluesound.com/products/pulse-m/
  5. Absolutely not an issue at all. We rarely use the garage speaker anyways, only when my wife decides it is "garage clean out" day (though ironically, it is usually my stuff, not hers, that gets cleaned out).
  6. Ari knows a lot more than me, as I just added a Sonos speaker to my whole house audio. However, I think the only drawback of Sonos is that you cannot add it to another session that is using C4-native music. My Sonos is in the garage. If I am playing music throughout the house using the Core3 as the source, I cannot add the Sonos to that session. I have to start a new session in the garage. However, if you don't have C4-native music already in your new house, it won't matter. I do believe you can add Sonos speakers to sessions already playing on other Sonos speakers. Ari - correct me if I am wrong.
  7. Thank you! That is extremely helpful. But just so I am clear, when a button is identified as a Selector in Properties for the driver, it does not respond to single, double, triple, taps, correct? It is limited to events just based on being active? Thanks again!
  8. Thanks! I know the thread was originally about the Keypad Audio Control driver, but I am using the Keypad Enhancer driver. My question is whether with that driver, if I can have a selector button trigger an event and in addition to selecting the use of the up/down keys. Thanks for your help! 9. That is the one I am using already. It allows for the up/down to be used with the "selector" buttons, but I haven't seen where it will automatically assign the up/down buttons to the last button tapped, but maybe that is essentially what was my original question... If a button is considered a "selector" button for purposes of the up/down buttons, can it also trigger an event? Or once a selector button, all it can do is select. I am sure @pbir can weigh in. Thanks for looking for it @SpencerT!
  10. I really like the idea of a driver to assign the up/down buttons to the last button clicked. I will research that possibility. All my other keypads are for music and I just use the up/down buttons for volume in whichever room(s) is/are playing (single tap) or to skip the playlist ahead or back (double tap). It has worked very well. This is my first one for lighting, so trying to figure out how to best use the up/down buttons. Thanks! Update - I couldn't find a driver that does what you described on Driver Central from Domo. Will keep looking.
  11. I have another question about using the Keypad Enhancer driver. This time, instead of music, I am getting one for lights and shades. If I set a button to be a "Selector," can I also have it trigger an event? For example, if I have a light, can I use one button to trigger the light on at 60% and then use the up and down buttons to raise and lower the light? If I want to use the up and down buttons to raise and lower several different lights separately, I can have each light as a selector, but can the selector button also trigger an initial event, like setting the light at 60%? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks!
  12. Without being red or solid, they are more reminiscent of two out of four Playstation buttons than stop and record!
  13. I also discovered there is a version of it in the MacOS store. It says it is for iPads, but works perfectly on my MacBook. There will be times I am working on my laptop and will find it quicker to pop open the app than to pick up my remote or phone. This is really cool!
  14. I can tell you that there are many AVRs that now output HDMI to Zone 2. However, I am not sure at what price point that feature is added. I just looked up a few on Crutchfield. A $700 Denon did not have Zone 2 HDMI, while a $800 Onkyo did. I know I have the ability to output HDMI to a second zone with my Arcam. So yes, it is a feature that is available, just not in the cheaper range of AVRs. Also, make sure the second HDMI output is labeled "Zone 2." Some AVRs have a second monitor HDMI output, but I believe that is intended for a second display in the main listening room. Quite possibly, a second monitor HDMI would work for a second room, but it likely won't allow simultaneous viewing of different sources in the two zones.
  15. As an update, I am very happy with the Keypad Enhancer driver. I have been able to utilize the "8th" button for mute, trigger additional playlists with "press and hold" options, etc. The driver is an excellent investment to open up more potential from the already amazing keypads. I do have one questions, probably for @pbir. Maybe this should be obvious, but I discovered that if I "Reconfigure" the keypad in the keypad's Properties (i.e., moving the keys around), the changes are not reflected in the Keypad Enhancer driver, only the original keypad driver. Is there any way to easily move programming around (i.e., swapping keys) in the Keypad Enhancer driver without having to copy/paste all the programming? Thanks!
  16. If you are referring to the picture I posted above, that is my theater Home Screen, but if I click Watch, it will show the icons just like those in iOS. I just don’t have any of those devices favorited to the Home Screen. I agree with @chopedogg88 that the lighting scene icons are much better. I am not thrilled with the custom buttons, with the dots, but they are fine. Here are photos of what I see if I tap Watch in Home Theater.
  17. That is great! So glad I was wrong!! Do you know if the programming can be done in HE or only in Pro?
  18. I have been wondering the same thing!
  19. Edit - Based on the below posts, it appears you can remap physical buttons on the Halo Touch, but there are no "Remote Focused Buttons," like on the NEEO.
  20. So it is the NEEO shape without any physical buttons? You would think they would have at least learned from Control4's move to the Halo Touch that people want physical control buttons. I had not realized how much I missed them until I swapped a Halo Touch for the NEEO. https://www.josh.ai/remote/
  21. I am thinking this is an issue for my dealer, but thought I would just try here. I have never had this happen before, but this morning, I have tried twice to back up the project in HE but an error message comes up saying "Could not backup driver: Equipment > Control4 Core 3. Error saving project. The user name or password is incorrect." Before this message popped up, there was some about the Digital Media not being found. I backup every time I close HE and have never seen this before. Thanks for any input. Update - I closed down HE, opened it back up, and the backup then worked fine. Crisis averted.
  22. I do agree the text could be better. I may be renaming some things to make them fit better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Just like PCs, I have found that the majority of weird anomalies with the C4 can be fixed with rebooting the controller. Glad you fixed the problem! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That’s awesome!!! Thanks for the clarification! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Quick question about the Keypad Enhancer driver... Can I use both single/double/triple tapping and "press and hold" on the same button, or are they mutually exclusive? I see both options provided in the events list, but I noticed that in the driver properties, you have to setup each button as "N" or "H", making me think it is tapping or press/hold but not both. Thanks!
