IRUSB falling offline

Recommended Posts

Anyone have these issues?  I am using them on a mix of Shields and FireTVs.  Turn off auto updates on the hardware (Shield/Firetv)?  There is that dialog box that asks you if you want to have to allow the connection or whatever on boot up - I always check that box so it should not have to ask me again.  But it seems like every few weeks I am dealing with a device that is not responsive, a wife complaining, and then my troubleshooting shows the IRUSB is offline.

Thoughts?  Something screwy on my network settings?  Just the life of dealing with the Android platform (I am an iOS guy otherwise)?

Humm, what is giving you the most issues Fire or Shield? I have it only on Xiaomi Mi Boxes and it’s fine, didn’t try yet on Fire TV.

shield because I removed AFT as they were giving issues before.  so really 50/50.  that said, I removed them from the AFT prior to 225.  I have 2 Shields now having issues.

I am using these devices for a Netplay Video Storm system behind the TV, so moving to Roku wont help - sorry @msgreenf 🙂

That’s very interesting. I have the IRUSB running on 2 Nvidia shields and haven’t had any issues apart from the mini apps not working since the last Nvidia shield update

You can’t launch apps anymore?

Yeah I can’t load Netflix and Kodi.
- I’m on Nvidia Shield FW - 8.0.2(32.5.205.105).
- Control4- 3.1

I just checked now and it seems if I’m on another source e.g Apple TV and press the Kodi button it takes me to Nvidia shield home screen. If I press Kodi again it launched into Kodi. So not sure what’s the problem here. Maybe a setting I need to change on Nvidia side of things?
