Intercom Anywhere and Akuvox

Recommended Posts

I've got an Akuvox R20A (Doorbell + camera) working locally with C4 Intercoms (the T3's etc). I'm on Control4 OS 3.1.3.

Intercom Anywhere is having problems. Through the IOS Intercom Anywhere app, I get signaling from the Akuvox ("Incoming Call") by no media stream. That is, I get the IOS notification for an incoming call, I hit the "answer call" button and then nothing.

The T3's work properly thorough Intercom Anywhere, so basic connectivity and setup is good. I've been all through the Akuvox Wiki, to no avail.

Has anyone gotten this working?

Hi Chris,

Are you on IOS14?

The intercom anywhere all has been updated to support apple call kit v2.

Please make sure your intercom anywhere app is updated too.

Due to security reasons and changes from
Apple you won’t see video till you answer the call on your phone and press the video button

Thanks

So let me get this right

You get Audio correct?

What if you manually call the door station from the intercom anywhere app, what happens then?

If you’re just not getting video make sure your stream settings are no higher than 720p @ 25fps

Thanks

Using Intercom Anywhere, I only get signaling from the Akuvox. No Audio, no video. I get a notification on my IOS device, press "Answer", then nothing.

The Akuvox works *just fine* with the T3's. Using a T3, I can answer the call and communicate with whomever is at my front door.

It seems as though I'm missing some outbound proxy setting, and the Intercom Anywhere app needs that.

I see

If it helps, communication is done through sip. Make sure sip alg is enabled on your router and your firewall isn’t blocking this. The fact that you’re getting a call through means it should be working, but check to make sure anywho.

If that doesn’t work, then I’m sure someone who’s use this particular brand of doorbell should hopefully chime in with their input

Thanks
M

Can some users of the Akuvox confirms it work with Intercom Anywhere app? Am ditching DS1 after moving to 3.2.2 and Am exploring Akuvox R20, if it works it would be a good option away from DS2 and DS2 Mini.

Whatever I do it just not working, not to mention I can’t get video at all out of it on the Intercom app, f@@k back to grabbing a DS2 out of eBay …

Is 2n Available in your country?  They are based in Europe.  They make the guts of the DS2 (its basically a rebranded 2n device) and they have certified drivers for Control4.  I use 2n and it works great.

No we don’t unfortunately, these are considered luxury items and they blow you away with up to 100% customs and taxes of the item price!

I just had that wonderful experience with the good old DS1, never failed on me once during 6 yrs of service, not once! I think I will pickup a used DS2, that will be fail safe for me …

The unit finish my dear god, my nail scratch it while am installing it, the documentation is translated via Google apparently, not consistent, to get the C4 firmware out of their website is an adventure, the wiki they refer to gives you not found pages!

The web interface is trash, really not a single help on any of the configuration options, the naming convention they are using for menu item is childish, am harsh I know but this is really lousy product!

Do they sell in volumes? Maybe, but I quit.
