Interesting didn’t know about these. How do you integrate these into C4? Is there a driver you’re using?

Yes, flash it with Tasmota and use Berto.IO drivers set.

Drudging this little nugget back up.  Any additional info on when Flex maybe offered and integrated with C4?  I am in the same boat with a Vera and 80+ Zwave devices.  If C4 at least supported Leviton and GE/Lesco, that covers 98% of what I'm using but I'd be happy to try Flex.  I read that the Vera replacement, Ezlo, after I ordered one doesn't continue with the C4 integration.  So that's not going to work for us.

I think u need to look elsewhere, this device had been loomed a lot and nothing solid, I don’t think it exists or will exist, also had been ridiculously priced!

Hey Guys, I'm with FlexControl. First of all I would like to thank everyone for their patience with the release of the FlexControl Z-Wave Bridge. It was a rocky start with COVID and the supply chain. With that said our dealer store is now open and we have the product on hand ready for shipping. We are pushing hard to release as many drivers as quickly as possible. You can learn more about the full product line here FlexControl.io

Let me address a few questions/comments from previews' posts.

Why FlexControl -- We believe C4 is the most flexible and powerful platform on the market and we want to expand its functionality. We did not develop the FlexBox Z-Wave Bridge to compete with C4 devices. As integrators, we wanted to have a solution for taking over existing systems with Z-wave devices like URC, Alarm.com, smart things. There are also certain solutions available in Z-wave that do not exist within the Zigbee product line.

Price-- As previously mentioned, we are aware that the $500 is a high price compared to DIY/Consumer-grade Z-Wave hubs. With that said, we do not charge for drivers and licensing. You buy the gateway and download any Bridge or device driver for free. The FlexBox-Z communicates with C4 on a local LAN not requiring any clouds, keys, or subscriptions. The products are only sold to Authorized dealers with industry-standard margins built-in.

Other Products -- We are also releasing FlexBox IR Bridge which allows for IR and serial control via LAN/WLAN as well as FlexBox-RF which allows for the integration of 433 and Sonfy products.

I will do my best to monitor all the topics on forums but don't hesitate to reach out to us directly with any questions support@flexcontrol.io

Mattcwiokoski,  Do you have a list of supported zwave devices for the FlexControl?  I have a lot of Leviton switches and Aeotec.  That's the great thing about Vera, they pretty much support all zwave devices.  However, they broke their C4 integration when they moved to the new Ezlo hardware/software.  So, I'm interested in looking at other zwave options.

Hello, am just curious about your RF bridge, $500 delar price and supports Somfy only for now? Don't u think this is exaggurated price for am incient technology like RF? I mean there is competing products in the market at less than one third of this price including a 3rd party driver, unless there are certian strentghess I couldn't get?

I'm not familiar with the RF bridge product, but the Z-Wave bridge should support any standard Z-Wave device.

That's one of the advantages to Z-Wave (instead of ZigBee).  Z-Wave uses standardized device/command classes so every switch, bulb, etc, works the same way.  There are sometimes extra features (double/triple tapping a switch, etc) that might not function but the basic commands should work on pretty much everything.

Not entirely true.  There is a compatibility aspect.  e.g. Control4 zwave dongle only supports a very small list of zwave devices.  If zwave support for all generic devices covered everything, then Vera wouldn't be needed.  I know some of my light/switches won't join the Control4 zwave network.  I'd like to know which manufactures Flex actually supports.

Hizzle,

Sofakng is correct. Z-Wave by nature is design to work with all Z-Wave device. The problem is that Hub/Gateway manufactures limit that on purpose for different financial/political reasons.

The idea behind Flex Bridges is to eliminate that limitation. This is why we created the Generic Drivers. They work with specific Z-Wave Device types no matter the manufacture/model.

For Example The Generic Z-Wave Switch work with any on/off Z-Wave devices. That means that you can control any Light Switch, Module, Light bulb, plug, with two way communication. The Generic Switch driver populates in C4 like a regular light switch and provide real feedback for the switch status. Our Generic Drivers also allow for channel selection. This is useful if you have a device that comes with multiple outlets/load control. For example, if you have a plug with two outlets, you can use two Generic Switch drivers and set each one to channel 1 and 2 and you can control both outlets independently via C4

The same applies to the current list of Generic drivers on our website

Generic Dimmer - Any Z-Wave Dimmer device (module, in-wall dimmer, Light Bulb)

Generic Lock - Any Z-Wave dead bold or handle

Generic Relay - Any On/Off device that is not Light (Valve, Relay) You can bind this with C4 UI Drivers the same way as biding Relays on EA-1

Generic Contact Sensor - Any Sensor that reports open/Close ( Door Sensor, Motion Sensor, Leak Sensor) This provide an input binding similar to EA-1 input which you can bind to C4 UI Drivers

We are working hard on releasing new drivers. We are cooking Temperature sensor, Thermostat, Shade at this moment.

After we are done with the generic drivers, we will be developing device/manufacture specific drivers for the unique Z-Wave devices that do not follow Z-Wave standard or have unique functionality outside of the Generic Drivers capabilities.

I will keep an eye on this thread but do not hesitate to email us with any specific questions support@flexcontrol.io

Amr, The FlexBox-RF support Sonfy and repeating any 433 commands. We are also working on unique functionality which is not supported by the other brands and will be announced later this year via firmware update.

I understand your concerns about the price. As this is a product designed strictly for Dealers/Pro market, we have no intend to follow the competition and forget about dealer margins. On the end of the day, dealers do not do this only for fun but to support their families. I guess only time will tell what the integrators really want.

Our FlexBox Bridge is fully configured with in Composer and allows recording of any 433 signal. It comes with Flexible power options, Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity. It also has optional IR/Serial ports which also come handy. The future functionality will only make it better and justify the price further.

Amr. Also, just to clarify your above message. $500 is MSRP not a dealer cost.
