RyanE While I 90% agree with you, the problem with the OSD not staying active with certain AVRs has been really irritating. I assume this was a handshake issue and I am assuming that this was fixed in OS3.3.3. Looking forward to going to my holiday house this weekend and seeing if it is finally truly fixed. I upgraded an EA5 to a Core 5 six months ago and I lost my OSD. Really hoping it is back! RyanE and Neo1738

Core 1 was a mess for us. OSD issues and locking up. That is real not bunk. Time will tell if 3.3.3 sorts. But one of main marketing points for Core was crisp 4k OSD — which didn’t work! I tested on a optima 4k projector without issues as an example It's unlikely that any installer here can claim they've never had an issue with 4k over HDMI before, it's actually fairly common (and it's sometimes not the product, but the product you're connecting to, such as receivers). When I was an installer, we regularly had to set AppleTVs to 1080p as an example in some combinations. Os3.3.3 fixes it though. And I'd assume most products implement workarounds too. Either way, disregarding all that, the core series is much faster, and I recommend them, particularly since os 3.3.3 wnpublic and RyanE 1

I could not get the OSD to stick (for more than a few hours) on any resolution. Ecstatic to hear that OS3.3.3 fixes this! I must say that when I briefly looked at the 4K OSD, it was super clear and a major step up on the 1080 OSD. Screensaver photos were also crisp! Just a question, what reasons did you have to upgrade from EA series to Core series (serious question)? Just want to work out the justification, given you have a CA10 as primary. Added media room and another tv so needed 2 core 1s (they don’t offer ea1 anymore)

So, technically, just adding controllers (which is fair enough). Just wanted to ensure an installer didn't tell you that your system would operate faster (it wont unless the installer has screwed up). On a system without a CA10 however, CORE series will definitely make a difference in many cases (with our ELK M1 Gen 2 driver I purposely set it to speed up initialisation 2.5x on Core / CA10 by default, because I know those systems can EASILY handle it). Which essentially was if upgrading from an EA controller has anyone noticed any speed increases. I only see reference to driver problems and CA10s... So I will have to take away that there is no speed increase, in fact possibly slower. I have a Core-5 AND an EA3 - When I upgraded to the Core5 my speed dramatically improved and I am much happeier with the end result. I have a rather "loaded" house. I also updateed to three CA-1's. BIG improvement. Bill Andrew luecke and The Remote Guy 13

Thank you As this was a secondary controller rather than my Director (which is a CA10), I don’t have much in the way of useful comments. For me, the extra digital music stream was a big plus as is the improved (now fixed) OSD (the 4K really looks magic when using a good projector on a large screen). I actually upgraded to the Core5 so that I could use the EA5 at my other property as a replacement for one of my two HC800s.
