Yep. We are running our driver on some VideoStorm VRX's at the Control4 stand at Integrate this week. which utilise Raspberry Pi 2's. Runs surprisingly really fast.

You will have two seperate databases though I am not sure if our driver will work as the Apple TV 1 (and 2 now) are not supported by Kodi. It may work as our driver should work with systems supporting xbmc versions frodo and above

Cover art is handled by the web server port. Please ensure that the we server is enabled and that the port specified in Kodi is the same port number defined in the drivers properties. If you are still having trouble then please submit a ticket on the HouseLogix website.

Yes we will have two drivers (currently on the lite version has been released. To sum it up Kodi Full is more appropriate for people who want to utilise their Control4 touchscreen, mobile app, etc to browse and search content on Kodi. Kodi Lite will do limited content (movies only) but for everything else you will need to utilise the Kodi's own onscreen interface. Of course there are a ton of other features which are mentioned on the first post of this thread.

Port 9090 (JSON-RPC port) is where 99% of the communication comes from. This is done by setting allow other programs to control KODI up. It is highly likely that you have not set this bit up.

If you require additional time for your trial the driver can be deleted and added back in again to restart the trial. Note that on windows 8 you will not need to restart kodi. Just on android. If all settings have been setup correctly then I would look into firewalls blocking port 9090 and the webserver port (usually 80 or 8080)

It is highly likely that you have not set 'Allow other systems to control kodi' setup. Its actually quite common for people to miss this step in the instructions for some reason. I might have to make it a bit clearer. Its not sure what an alienware alpha is but if it is android based you will need to quit the app and start the app again for the settings to apply.

Hi guys, Control4 just released a new driver they developed today. Pretty cool. Works great. DLNA Music – An alternative digital music experience Control4 is pleased to announce the availability of the DLNA Music driver. This is an alternative to the standard My Music digital music driver for use where the customer’s local music collection is stored on a NAS drive. Most NAS drives ship with a DLNA music server which is compatible with this driver. The advantages of the DLNA Music driver in these situations are: No Music Scanning Required – The driver uses the information already scanned by the DLNA server. New Music Appears Quickly – The DLNA server can constantly monitor for new music. Searching - Music collections can be searched by Artist, Album, Genre etc. ‘His and Hers’ music collections – it is possible to set up different libraries for different members of the family. Justin Beiber shall never intermingle with your Prog Rock collection again. Tailor the navigation – many DLNA servers allow you to tailor how the information is presented to the user. Some are particularly good for Classical or Jazz collections. It is important to remember that this driver does not scan the music collection or lookup metadata. If customers that have already copied their CDs or purchased music from online stores this is not necessary. It also means that the driver does not edit or change the customer’s metadata. If a customer uses iTunes or other programs that lookup metadata as they copy CDs this driver can be used successfully. Supported NAS drives and Servers The driver has been tested using the following popular NAS drive and DLNA server solutions. For other NAS drive manufacturers look to see if they include or support either Asset or Twonky. iTunes The driver is ideal for customers that have their local music collection on iTunes. By moving the iTunes library to a NAS drive it is possible for the customer to enjoy their iTunes music collection via their Control4 system without needing to keep a computer permanently running. Classical and Jazz Collections If you have customers with classical and jazz music collections then they often want to be able to search or browse their collection by Composer, Orchestra, Conductor or Soloist. The Asset DLNA music server available for the QNAP NAS offers these abilities. It relies on the customer’s music collection being accurately tagged. dbpoweramp also provide CD Ripper which is particularly good at accurately copying and indexing classical music collections. Available Now The driver is available now in Composer via the online database. You can find it under Media Service, Manufacturer Control4.

No as long as it contains that variable it doesn't matter. It's probably best for you to play around with it to get an understanding. Worst case you will need to delete the action for your announcement and create a new one. Easily testable given it'll tell you vocally.

They will both work.

In composer he you will need to expand the thermostat by clicking on the plus sign next to it on the actions side. This will bring up all variables for the thermostat driver.

Thermostats have local and remote temp variables. You most likely need the local temp variable though if you have an external temperature sensor you will need to grab the external temp variables.

KODI FULL is pretty far off. We are still have to finish development and go through alpha and beta testing phases. If you haven't yet you can always purchase the KODI LITE driver for now. We are offering people who have purchased the lite driver the ability to upgrade for the difference in pricing.

You are correct seems like there are some issues with speechutil.com not sure if it is site problems or if they plan to not resume the service. Personally though I utilise voicerss as it utilises natural voices. I suggest using that one The file is stored in the controllers announcement directory \\ipofdirector\media\announcements You are correct about the time. Dealer needs to set it for you. 12 hours is a lot as usually it's set to a Timezone. They probably didn't do that when programming the project

Looks like neil posted a video of our driver in action Nice work. I'm actually starting to make videos for all of the chowmain drivers due to high demand.

The 15 second announcement only effects control4 hardware not sonos. Having said that though my house reads out 'good morning alan. Today's date is <day>, <ddmmyyyy>. The forecast for today is <forecast> with a minimum of <min> and maximum of <max>. The current temperature inside your home is <temp>.'. This is read out every weekday morning and has done so since I installed the driver when I wrote it without any issues. Fits in nicely and does not cut off via control4's audio output playing voicerss's English female voice.

Hi there, Unfortunately we did not do the initial documentation on using sonos with the Advanced Announcements driver. It was something that extra vegetables did for us when they were our distributors. I don't have a sonos unit to test this against either so i can't really be of any help. Your dealer can try and talk to Control4 technical support to see if they can offer some insight for you as they now offer full support for the Sonos driver.

I don't but Control4 has a free one which I haven't tested.

Yes that is correct.

The KODI LITE driver can playback moves scanned into Control4 that is stored on a NAS. The better way of doing thing though is to have KODI setup to scan your NAS and catalog automatically catalog it's library. The KODI LITE driver can then be set up to aromatically import and update the library. This means that you no longer need to manually catalog your movies.
