  1. There is a thread about the topic here http://www.c4forums.com/topic/16666-best-kodi-box/#entry143691
  2. I answered this via PM but will answer here for anyone who is curious. Unfortunately we do not have access to the hardware here in Australia. The driver comes with a 48 hour trial so you will have to do the testing yourself sorry.
  3. The current KODI windows release has a few issues that they are addressing (see their website for details). It should be resolved when they release KODI 14.2 shortly. Alternatively if you want our driver can programmatically reboot your machine. Mine is setup to shutdown the machine on security arm and boot on security disarm and as such save the idle power during my time away from home.
  4. No you do not need the chunk.io driver. The instructions don't state that. You type in the camera URL and click set url_is_local_snapshot to true. That's it. Have you contacted your dealer (or other dealers) for quotes? Dealers are needed to install the driver so pricing is dependant on installation charges as well.
  5. there is no suggested MSRP. Your confrol4 dealer can provide a price for you. Each driver is Independant of each other. You only need the one driver per notification type. Ie email via SMTP or push notification via push over.
  6. You're looking at the quick start guide. The documentation pdf can be found in the zip included with the driver or via our website.
  7. Please read the installation guide. You're not setting it up right. If you are still having problems please submit a ticket via http://support.houselogix.com/
  8. Our kodi driver can help automate reboots if you want it to do so. For example my house automatically shuts down my main kodi HTPC when I arm my house. It will automatically turn it back on again when I disarm my house. It also does it at scheduled times of 3am shutdown and 8am startup. I do this to save a bit of energy for the times I know that my family will never be using the system. Alternatively if you have a fast boot system then control4 can automatically turn it on and off every time you use it. Personally I don't want to wait 30 seconds to a minute to use the system so not for me.
  9. Yes you can. The driver looks for the /chowmain/ text in the confrol4 file path to assume it is a movie from the library. Any other movie will be played as normal if using another scraper like plex media server. Note you won't get the pretty movie info and cover art if you press the info button on your remote if you go with this method.
  10. No. The driver indexes the library and grabs the movie id not the file path. As such movie is numbers are unique to that library. The reason we did this is so that A) when you play a movie it counts to the play count you can resume playback C) you can see the movie info D) it doesn't matter if the movie is on local storage/network storage/Etc You will need a seperate share for each instance of xbmc. Just hide the other shares in each room under both watch and videos.
  11. UPDATE: The deviantsart online image host seems be in some financial strain and as such have suspended image uploads. This effects both the pushover driver and deviantsart drivers. We have sourced a new image host (chunk.io) and have integrated it into Control4 as a new chunk.io driver and have also updated the pushover driver to support this new image host. If you are using pushover driver version 8.0 or 8.1 this will be automatically updated via the Houselogix Auto-Update Driver. If you are using an older 7.x version then you will need to manually update it. The new Chunk.io driver comes at no additional cost. It will work with your existing Houselogix licence. Note that if you are still using an extra vegetables licence you get your licence inserted into the Houselogix database by contacting them via their support page with your existing licence and the mac address of your controller.
  12. Alot of dealers have been using XBMC for years though it is just recently that XBMC has had work done to it to allow for lower spec devices to work well with it hence the influx of devices that can play it well. There are also hardware based setups like the Helix systems that Houselogix sells that are also pretty solid as mentioned. We have had a huge influx in sales since we started selling this driver (When i was at Recluse we sold alot but the chowmain version is selling way more). I would ask for a second opinion on the official dealer forums. Quite alot of dealers use and sell setups and there are some who know XBMC inside out. I have had issues with it in the past on poorly designed systems but once you get the formula right its solid. As i mentioned android for me has worked well (on the right box) but that's just my experience. We are starting to distribute these boxes through our distribution arm and so far we've had only positive feedback. Hope that helps.
  13. Our library import function imports movie ids and not file paths. This will not work as a movie scraper for other media players like our Plex media server. We work with a few HTPC manufacturers and android box distributors. If installed correctly on the right hardware Kodi is extremely stable. I would recommend visiting xbmc.org to see discussions on recommended hardware installations.
  14. We usually don't take requests from a single person however since this is relatively easy to do i'll add into the next revision. Won't be releasing it until we have a few more new features. I prefer to keep updates to a minimum if possible.
  15. Hi Robert, First of all can i please ask you to refrain from contacting me via houselogix, linkedin, c4forums and our contact us page about the same problem. I understand you have urgency on the matter however please note that we do respond to all enquiries (usually during business hours and sometimes after as well but usually whilst we're awake) and pummeling us with enquiries does not help. The official way to get support for any of our products is via Houselogix. They have been trained to support all of our products and will respond promptly. In regards to your problem i have already written a lengthy reponse via Houselogix. You should get a reply shortly from their support team.
  16. My whole house is running off a HC250 and works surprisingly well considering the amount of stuff i have warrants a HC800 (security, lighting, multiple av zones, etc). Browsing via genre/name/whatever is independant of the driver. Once its imported into the database its upto whichever device you are using to display it. So if you are using a HC250 then it'll be lightning quick, a touchscreen/ipad/android device lightning quick or if you are using a slave HC200/300 then it will be dog slow. There are various Control4 dealers who do work remotely on the forum. See the link below for details. http://www.c4forums.com/forum/26-looking-for-an-integrator/
  17. Hey there. Answers below Due to limited resources we have chosen not to make youtube videos of our products. We would rather spend those resources developing more cool drivers and applications to enhance the Control4 home automation platform. I have been developing Control4 XBMC/Kodi drivers since 2006. This is my 6th iteration of the driver over the years (and across multiple companies i've worked for) and as such its stupidly quick (try for yourself using our free 48 hour trial). You may have had performance issues using older controllers as well. The current generation of Control4 controllers capable of running OS 2.6 will run it just fine. 700 movies will import in about 30 minutes on a HC250. On a HC1000 we imported about 1000 movies in 15 minutes. Note that the driver does not import TV series as Control4's media management does not have the capability of showing TV series. During our beta testing two of our beta testers were using SPMC. Worked fine with them.In the past two weeks of release this driver has quickly soared to become our top selling driver dwarfing sales of every other driver in the period. Many CI manufacturers have chose to utilise our driver to distribute with their custom XBMC/Kodi boxes for use with Control4. Use the built in trial licence to see if you like our driver. If you like it after you try it out buy a licence for it. So far we've been getting extremely positive feedback from everyone. Quite a few have been saying that its the best media player integration in Control4 to date.
  18. The bug effects all devices using the fan proxy including the c4 device. This has been resolved as of os 2.6.
  19. Yeah this 'LITE' driver is the most advanced media player driver on the market to date. I teased the 'FULL' version of the driver which will be even better though it won't be available for a while. The android box i purchased is a tronsmart draco AW80. Have thrown 1080p mkv's at it without any issues. Box has been up since i installed it on monday last week and has been rock solid. Supposidly the box does 4k as well though i haven't tested it.
  20. I remember that one. The driver communicates in the same method so probably not. Though they may have fixed the bug in kodi 14. So I'd try the new version first.
  21. Testing is complete. This is a pretty minor update but an important one. Have uploaded the driver to the houselogix site. If you have the houselogix auto-update it will automatically update the driver. Note a restart is needed once it is updated to see the new commands in the dropdown boxes. Version #20141215 - 15-DEC-2014System will only perform an automated scan when it detects at least one new movie rather than when a scan has finished (there are times when a scheduled scan returns no new movies)Added CODEC_INFO configurable button as per requestFound undocumented Window Activation links to tv/radio recordings, tv/radio guide and tv/radio search. Added as configurable button as per request and mapped as default for logical buttons.
  22. So good news. Turns out there are some hidden API commands which i just guessed that will allow you to jump to the recording and guide windows. I'll implement these in along with a few other mapped buttons people have been asking for since the initial release. Will probably do some testing and update it in the coming days.
  23. Thanks for the feedback. I hope you're enjoying the driver. Notes below. The VIDEO_MODE configurable option for any button is what you're looking for. This will cycle between the different video modes. Unfortunately the JSON-RPC doesn't have sub menu's in its window navigation. They are aware of it and are looking at implementing it however it has not made Kodi 14 unfortunately. Hopefully next year we'll get sub menu's (including recorded shows, guide, etc). Unfortunately we cannot detect if the virtual keyboard has popped up. There is no notification from Kodi that this has happened. As such we cannot do this elegantly. Personally i type faster using the virtual keyboard than sms style typing. As per answer 2 There are issues with changing the button configuration whilst in live tv mode. Should you enter the PVR_MENU (or any other menu for that fact) we will not be able to detect that we are navigating and as such the select button (a pretty important button) will jump to PVR_MENU.
  24. Create an announcement agent. Create a bookmark of the camera Call the book and on announcement. The tv will auto turn on / switch to the camera and after a while it will auto turn off or switch back to what you where watching.
  25. 1) I'm not sure though I don't think so. I haven't tried this xbmb3c before but as it is an add on I don't think it will. The driver imports the xbmc library only. If the addon does not inject movies into the xbmc library it won't work. If it does it should work. I would test this out first using our trial licence prior to purchase to be sure. 2a) see the installation guide linked in the first post for a list of all button mappings 2b) I haven't used composer he for years (for about 5 years now) so I'm not sure. If you can access the properties of a driver (should be under monitoring from memory) then yes. 3) pvr control is mapped to record, channel up, channel down. The guide and DVR buttons can be mapped to the pvr screen. Unfortunately xbmc cannot jump to sub menus. We (and a lot of other developers) have asked for this but not sure if it'll make the kodi 14 release. 4) houselogix doesn't actually have a spot for MSRP pricing as such we don't have this for consumers. Having said that though personally I feel that if you should not pay in excess of $180usd for the driver. Note that this does not include installation costs.
