Status of the Heatmiser Neo driver
blub replied to blub's topic in Troubleshooting, Workarounds, & Bugs
Do you really use the Heatmiser NEO system and Firmware 2.x? - if so what is your Control4 driver version? -
Hi folks! Is anyone using the Heatmiser Neo driver? It used to work great until spring 2017 when Heatmiser released the FW 2.x - after that every time control4 checked the thermostats status it ereased all programming from the Neo system (profiles etc...). I did file a bug report via my dealer back in Nov '17 but havent heared back anything useful - so I am asking myself if I am the only one using that driver as I would have expected a fixed driver after like 6 months !? thx for any feedback
-
Dealer status (gold etc....) doesn't necessarily correlate with service quality /overall quality of work a dealer is doing - that I can tell you after 9 years with Control4. The more "custom",or on other words the more stuff you want with 3rd party drivers and non standard/out of the box setups, the more u need an on-site visit and a quote from each

Chowmain - Kodi Full (XBMC) Driver for Control4

Has anyone tried to change the resolution via the Kodi driver? Every time I change the resolution Kodi is unresponsive to any command and I have to hard reset the PC (ubuntu) Gesendet von meinem SM-N950F mit Tapatalk- 252 replies

Thx a lot. That clears up what those drivers can do. I just browsed the European Somfy site and noticed that RTS is marked as legacy and they deploy wireless shades via the new io-homecontrol protocol. Link: https://www.somfysystems.com/downloads/nam/guide_io_en.pdf Do you know if there is chance that it is supported via Control4?
-
I just recognized that this new driver supports MyLink and UAI - has anyone done both and can elaborate which is better?
-
Yeah that seems to be the easiest way to do it - set up everything on the Somfy side via RTS and the use the Wifi-Bridge with the MyLink driver. I didn't know of this bridge, looks like the page has been updated since the last time I looked.

Ok, thx for the feedback. I will keep an eye on this and maybe ask my dealer to make a "light" project (kicking some stuff) to see if I can find the mem leak driver- 252 replies

Ok so for main and mini drivers, uh that's what I was afraid of I will try to use a boolean variable and set that true for all Kodi drivers in "video change" section and to false for all other sources. By doing so programming everywhere else can be done using conditionals against that variable - should save some time- 252 replies

feature request/idea: Would it be possible to detect whether Kodi is playing a 2D or 3D video - it would then be possible to automatically switch the TV to 3D mode without further user interaction? -

Is there any chance to put it back into the "Lite Version" also as it is quite useful - the current Hibernate function sends my PC to "off state" - probably a Linux issue. Since I use Kodi in conjunction with Emby media server the import to Control4 does not work correctly (cover art isn't imported) - so an upgrade to the full driver is of doubtful use for me at the moment -

Hi Alan Is there any specific reason why "suspend" isn't included as a specific command but "hibernate" which is kind of unusual as most PC do suspend as S3 mode. -
I also have an older Roomba 580 but for my place I am looking for something a little more efficient and on top the roomba is pretty beaten uo over the years - hence my quest for a new one and the neato navigation was superior over roombas for years now. Do you think the new roomba navigates better than the neato? I kinda doubt it but I haven't seen any review comparing those to new guys yet. I also wonder how roombas camera can navigate in the dark. I will keep my eyes open for a connected a it is not in stock ATM. @firemedic I also think the amount of sales through C4 would be minimal, it is more a gadget/marketing thing "hey look W What we can do!" - it makes the Connected "more Connected" :-)

That's for sure. But usually drivers are sold to more than one person. So for me paying 750$ and then others getting it for let's say 100$ later on is a little out of proportion from my point of view.Although I have no problem with a driver being for free afterwards when I am part of a group that donates the money to get the device for development. Since the neato has the more sophisticated navigation compared to the brand new roomba navigation I would vote for the neato. @C4RVA If Neato's API isn't online maybe they will provide the bot once they see the full picture!? I am not sure if an app in c4 is needed. Basically we need: Start /stop cycle Return home Pick schedules Those could be done via custom buttons Variables for bot status: Status status of cycle/ remaining time Battery state Time of last run Error state - if it gets stranded Could be visualized via notifications or email. However a customizable GUI I.e. HTML5 would be awesome for jobs like this.
-
If I'd buy you a bot that would be an immensely expensive driver for me :-) - however if we find a couple more people to collect 750$ I am surely in for it :-)
