  1. Just brought the second (replacement) Neeo to our other house which has Ruckus APs. Paired with that system and its CA10. Same issues — WiFi drops randomly. Suspect there is a bad production run of Neeos. C4 should issue a service notice.

I believe it is the High Performance Devices setting. I setup a 2.4 only SSID and then disabled this setting on the unifi controller and have not had any issues since.

I did same and tried dedicated 2.4 and even static up. Didn’t work.

Do this and it should fix it. Did for mine!

We learned that Ubiquiti has a setting call "High-speed device optimization."
This setting must be turned off for NEEO remote controls to connect Properly.

I don’t see that setting. Do you mean the setting which pushes devices to 5g?

I would setup a completely separate SSID on 2.4GHz only for the Neeo and see how that performs. I had to do this in our Showroom just to get it to connect at all.

Thanks I tried that and also static IP. Neither worked.

But if you turned off the sleep mode, then it could be you need a new one. Big thing to try is a different brand AP (Yes I know people have luck with Ubiquiti). I would put in a Ruckus or other AP as a test.

Got the new Neeo. So issue is Ubiquiti Wi-Fi equipment doesn’t play well w Neeo. So Dubamivora you were correct. I tried myriad settings but if you google Neeo and Ubiquiti Wi-Fi issues you’ll fine that there are long-standing problems with Neeo remotes (pre-dating C4 product). So shame I can’t use the new remotes with my Ubiquiti Wi-Fi. Odd that this is the only C4 product, or any product for that matter, which doesn’t play well w Ubiquiti Wi-Fi. If anyone has a solution pls let me know (We have another home w Ruckus and Neeo and all works perfectly). FYI my main router Used w Ubiquiti APs  is Luxul Epic 5.

Not quite. Yes HIK OEMs their cameras but that's not quite the same thing as rebranding.

I'm EXTREMELY impressed with these guys: http://www.uniview.com/Products/Cameras/

The app they use is easy to use, and the hardware (image) is fantastic.

Personally I have Pakedge, but I only view remotely using C4 app (live)

I said LUMA rebrands Hikvision. The look and feel of the software and app is exactly the same.

Best right now is Luma 510 series NVRs. Still a lot of features missing if compared to ring or nest.

They finally got the update out so it works on any browser (not just IE) so it now works on safari, chrome, firefox. Its about time. Awesome update.

But there are alot of drawbacks. For example - Luma systemd that costs thousands still can't simple send push notifications without using Control4 and jumping through hoops. Setting up alerts and notifications and such is way easier in nest / ring. It should be a standard by now. These cheap consumer products are even doing analytics like face detection and line crossing and you won't see those features in the pro world until you jump up to the visualint series which is so expensive it immediately won't work for 9/10 jobs.

I hate where the surveillance industry is at as a whole. We have two options and both aren't great.

1 - Professional gear with half the features. But is very reliable and great picture quality.

2 - Consumer gear that is cheap, crappy to install, worse picture quality, monthly fees, made of plastic, no margins, can't withstand -30C temperatures ect..., But super easy to use, awesome app, tons of features and amazing price point,

It really makes me look like a dumbass when I put in a quality Luma system for several thousand dollars and someone pulls out their Ring app that can do so much more. Even something as simple as pulling your footage off sucks on Luma. You have to convert the footage to a playable file format so people can share it on facebook and stuff.

It shouldnt be so hard to just share a clip to facebook and have it play. Nearly every time my customers have a break in they call me and I have to pull the footage off. convert it, uploadto drop box for them, it sucks big time. With nest or ring pulling footage off and showing the world couldnt be any easier.

What would make me happy is if Luma added push notifications, analytics, customizable notification schedules (so you only get notifications from 11 PM to 5 AM if you want for example.) Sensitivity adjustment right there on the app, saving footage without having to convert it, all that stuff is considered standard, but really the only gear with all those features is ring/nest/alarm.com and its not standard at all. None of the big players have these features that nest/ring have at their super cheap price point.

Its getting harder and harder to justify pro surveillance in the small-to-medium sizes homes residential market when Ring and Nest are doing it better for cheaper.

(With all that being said I'm currently installing a Luma 510 DVR right now. It is a great product, but leaves lots to be desired.)

LUMA is just rebranded hikvision hardware and software. We have both. LUMA is a big ripoff.

  9. Have a new Neeo and it keeps disconnecting from network. Luxul Epic 5 router with Ubiquiti nano APs (just upgraded from AP Pro). Have tried separate 2G guest network just for the Neeo, dedicated IP address for neeo, turned off band steering, etc etc. keeps dropping Wi-Fi. None of my other Wi-Fi devices have problems. iPhone works fine and gets strong signal. Dealer is replacing but just wonder if there is something I missed? Neeo goes full signal to zero randomly. Turned off sleep mode in HE. Rebooted ea5, restarted Neeo and also re-paired w network about 5 times. Still have problems. Thoughts? Musings?

What type of issue? Have no issues with mine, maybe it was all the wireless devices?

Sounds like the company that installed it should have fixed the problem for you.

Panel backup batteries die. Wireless dies. You’ll hear “this is the only case we’ve seen” (lie) then “this was a bad batch of batteries” and “the new firmware will fix this.”  Just wait. Honeywell is rock solid.

  11. 8 hours ago, KWD said:

I'm guessing you must have had an older panel, the new ones were made to work directly with C4, zero issues here so far.  Everything in the house is hardwired so I don't have any wireless, might add some though. Hopefully they have worked out battery life.

No had one of the newer panels. XR150. Horrible. Threw out all their hardware when they wouldn’t buy it back. Horrendous company.

  12. We had DMP and was a disaster. They don’t play well w C4 and their wireless devices have poor battery life. They also push updates to the panel which causes issues. Awful company too. They wouldn’t stand by their (lousy) products. Imo their focus on two-way communication with wireless devices kills their batteries much earlier than would be the case with Honeywell and DSC. Good luck.

Had one installed about six months ago, works flawlessly and communicates  via SDDP.

Don't hear about them being used much here, just throwing it out as another option, that as far as I can tell integrates nicely.

  13. You need to access the DS2 directly via IP and make adjustments. We have our brightness to max. This is direct rather than via C4 driver. Default user name and password are listed in the discussion group somewhere (don’t have with me)

I suspect that Cree was always using lesser tech in the mass market brands to keep the cost down, even though they were more expensive than other brands.

Well they still claimed .20 year life or something of sort for their consumer bulbs. So they should be sued.

  15. 8 hours ago, BakerBalay said:

Cree used to be the S..T, but the lighting division was sold off to another company and has gone down hill since. They have shifted their focus to commercial lighting primarily on the lighting side, where they still excel. Their primary business is chip manufacturing. The bulbs sold through mass market were the best about six years ago when I repped them for a time. the stuff they send to Home Depot here in the States is garbage now.

You’re wrong. Our bulbs were all 6-7 years old and 30-40% have failed. I replaced them with new Crees 2-3 years ago and all of those failed. They should be sued. If anyone gets a class action going let me know.
