Any idea what’s happening w Neeo? We invested a lot in them. They’re good but Wi-Fi connections are sub par. Hoping C4 will have special upgrade deal for we who took the Neeo plunge and aren’t thrilled.

How big ur ZB network is? Your dealer worked on your network or just pushed the upgrade?
OS3.3 introduced a new ZB setup rendering two legacy Zigbee configurations unsupported.
Unsupported configurations include:
- Splitting ZB Server and Coordinator across two controllers- Multi-ZAP configurations
In my case I had the invalid setup, so my system had been reworked to have 4 ZB networks to distribute the ZB loads across the house, results in much better network and a valid setup
Over 100 devices. not sure what dealer did when upgrading. Just know prior config was reviewed by C4 and the Pinnacle dealer and they approved it, yet still had issues with the keypads. They claimed interference from neighbor's wifi but also said they never have issues in NYC where there are myriad interfering wifi networks.

Not sure what the upgrade was but yes there was an upgrade to all latest gen keypads/lights/panelized lights. After the initial update to 3.3 all our switches cycled one by one throughout the house.
Thank you. Hoping someone can help me also understand what was upgraded (details re Zigbee upgrade). Yes these problem keypads working better and wondering what caused it (or maybe they'll just degrade again).

We’ve had issues with zigbee lighting (latest gen wireless keypads — lag and unresponsive) for years (have ca10 and latest equipment pre Core). I’ve written about it prior (C4 even came to house to try to help our Pinnacle dealer - no luck). But seems to be much better since OS 3.3 upgrade. Does anyone have detail on whether there were zigbee upgrades w 3.3 and if so, what they were? Ty

Did you try a factory reset? Press and hold the power and mute buttons for like 10 seconds.
Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
Yeah after that get RMA. We had prob 4 out of 8 replaced. Frozen screen in most cases. Also one which wouldn't charge properly (tried new base). Reset didn’t work. Confirmed by (pinnacle) dealer and RMAd all four. Not good re quality control.

Does anyone know if 8" T4s are still backordered and by how much? I've ordered through our dealer (to replace our T3s) but don't want to bug them again with this question --

Hi,
Does C4 have any or standard upgrade pricing discounts or will this vary by dealer? For example, I want to replace:
33 x LDZ-101 6 x LSZ-3W1 4 x KPZ-6B1
With newer gear (contemporary, essential) as well as add about 10 more switches as the previous owner hadn't gone "finished the job" when they went in with Control4.
So, this ain't cheap and I get that this is definitely a first-world problem. So I'm asking if any dealer will pretty much give the same price (C4 discounting) or if there's a lot of value in shopping around.Ive used this multiple times. https://www.control4.com/development/promotions/

Get the charging stations. They’re fantastic. I bagged batteries years ago.

Reboot controller and router. We’ve had issue and use C4 IP driver. First step reboot ATV. Second step reboot controller and router.

I’d go #3. Have your alarm co install Hik then have your C4 dealer link to C4. Luma gets you nothing. Just make sure you’re using all C4 supported Hik. IMO Blue Iris sounds great but your host PC will prob get blue screen of death at some point. Best to get DVR same brand as cameras just to save headaches.

We’re finally getting around to installing video cameras. 2 chime doorbells, 3-4 IP cameras, NVR. Don’t expect to be super users of the video system - record on motion, look who is at the door, run the NVR output to the video matrix, so it can be displayed on TV (maybe not too often). If we can program on motion events, I’m sure I’ll play with it, but it’s not obvious to me that we would be heavy users.
Would like something that’s easy to navigate (though I don’t expect to be doing much video review). It would be nice to add a camera without too much trouble. It’s not imperative that our primary viewing method be the C4 iOS app, but it might be nice.
My wife, especially, is going to prioritize ease of pulling up the cameras. My dealer is recommending Luma cameras and the Luma 510 NVR, but there seem to be mixed opinions on Luma on here (with at least a couple opinions being that the best place for Luma equipment is the trash can).
I would love some current reactions to my dealer’s recommendation of Luma and/or some suggestions on what might be a better fit.
Thanks much.
Don’t have good answer but know that Luma hardware is Hikvision. Luma rebrands and charge 2-3x. We have Hikvision in one home and Luma in another. They’re both a PITA and dealers struggle to make them work seamlessly. The app for both (same app) sucks. Luma just slaps their name on the app and adds no other functionality. There are also sometimes resolution issues with C4 OSD. Luma has custom firmware for this but we needed to wait MONTHS for it — ie an upgrade to help the cameras play w C4 ***as promised in marketing materials***. Even with this custom firmware the interface is clunky and awful. There is no good solution for C4. My favorite is Nest which has usable app — but doesn’t integrate w C4. If you want Luma — I’d use hikvision instead to save money — same hardware and there are C4 drivers.

Good Morning,
Recently, I noticed that my programmed Control4 lights turn on the entire home (switches are programmed thoughout the home) in the middle of the night without anyone pushing a button.
Does anyone have any ideas what the cause may be?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Do you have the mockupancy driver? We had this happen when that was installed (even though we were home) and ended up removing it due to these bugs.

Yep, you got me figured out. I am only saying that because I somehow stand to make money off of whether or not he buys a matrix or not! Actually could care less.
Clearly, you think that you're interests are the same as everyone else's and therefore you can't even fathom why someone would want/need a video matrix...quite small-minded for such a smart person.
-Do you own a Kaleidescape system that you want to be able to watch on all TVs in your house?
-Do you have an NVR that you want to be able to pull up (or have automatically pull up) on every TV in your house?
-Cable/DirecTV boxes that you want to be able to watch on every TV in the house?
-Control4 on-screen GUI?
-etc
If so, how do you accomplish that with your "streaming device at back of TV" solution? Yes, some people are old school, still want/use actual cable boxes (not me personally, but lots of my clients...), NVRs, blu-ray players, etc.
Just fyi we have one atv and one ea1 behind each tv. I like having option of OSD. For me that beat the video distn option our dealer presented. We also moved to streaming only (cut the cord) but prior we just had Fios mini client behind each TV too. No need to sync audio and no need for expensive video matrix. But that was just my preference. Suspect simplest solution for home built from scratch with future proof structured cable would be running everything from one closet and matrix prob better than baluns (which it seems always have issues, ultimately).

What is your sound system setup with local ATV’s? I agree with this if you plan to use the TV speakers for sound, but if you have a surround sound system then I’m not sure I agree this is the best setup.
We use arc sound bars (sonos) but had option of using in ceiling speakers — I just forget what was the config for that — wasn’t video matrix though — I think had To send sound feed from atv back to our av closet and then have our audio matrix pump back to speakers in ceiling.

We had video distribution suggested by our Pinnacle dealer. We just put Apple TVs on each tv in in-Wall box. Family delighted. Not sure why anyone would use expensive video distribution. Only scenario is if you want all your TVs playing same content in sync (or if you wish to play dvds). We’d never do that. If you don’t wish to be wed to appletv just add a roku behind each tv. We’ve also got ovrc to help me reboot when atv needs it.

We had this happen with an EA1 after our dealer upgraded to latest OS. The dealer’s tech had to call C4 and yes this is known issue that may need to be sorted w your dealer and C4 pushing some code. But they did fix it.

I meant hardware upgrade not firmware.

All of my Gen1 product (of which I still have probably 50) were Embernet, and all got upgraded to Zigbee Pro, and have been updated several times since.
Those were the dark days.
On the bright side, of all C4 lighting / keypads I've installed (around 100), I think I've had 2 fail, over the last 15 years.

Thx. But the latest gen had “silent” upgrade 3-4 years ago (mentioned on these forums and confirmed by my dealer) and just asking what the upgrades were? Again my pre-2018 configurable keypads have lag issues but the ones installed 2019+ are rock solid.

Yeah, your dealer is calling them by the wrong name.
Those are configurable keypads.
This is a Gen 1 6-button...
RyanE
Okay. I meant configurable keypads. I’ll let my dealer know correct nomenclature. Did you update zigbee radios during the “silent” lighting upgrade c 2018?

Not incorrect.
You stated '6-buttons' which is an older product, vs the 'wireless configurable keypad' - just wanted to clarify that. And OP is STILL talking about the WIRED keypads which do no use ZigBee but a hardwired connection.
My pinnacle dealer calls them 6 button and Zigbee are sometimes used w Panelized.

Thanks. Hope C4 gives very very deep discounts to those of us who invested in Neeos. We had several (of 8-9) RMAd and would upgrade if there were a good deal. The Neeo radios are barely adequate.
