Any jobs with a sources shared between rooms, more than 6 rooms, or duplicates of IR gear in excess of 2 since the harmony hubs only have 2 ports are out. Not including the logistic nightmares of actually making it actually work with a 8-15 device limit. I like the harmonys to a degree, i set one up for my inlaws for their family room and the avrs zone2 for the deck. But it was a bitch to get it so turning the room off didnt turn both zones off because it just isnt set up for that. I even contacted their tech support to get their take and they said to go kick rocks and it cannot ve done so i figured out a work around and then emailed them

I dont feel that alexa is taking any of control4's consumer marketshare. Maybe coming in on the DIY type samsung smartthings, wink's customers. At the moment comparing alexa to control4 is like a tesla vs a rollerskate

I played with the native IFTTT and smartthings geofences when alans IFTTT driver came out. The smartthings one was more reliable but i havent played with them since then. The issue i had back then was when my phone jumped from between wifi and cell data or back out of sleep for a decent amount of time it resent the command to c4 that i entered the fence every once and a while. Also neither seemed to send the pushover notification the second i entered everytime so it may not meet their perfect expectations. I use the vera geofence now and havent had an issue but none of my programing is time sensitive to the point where i need a door to open. It is more of a reference for washer/dryer turned off so send a notification to the person who is home

I use a vera z-wave controller. Created a virtual switch in its interface that is turned on and off when the wattage goes above and below a certain wattage and C4 can be programed to beep the remotes and send a push notification when the switch turns off to the person who is home using the vera geolocation as well. Also used some of @alanchow's experience buttons to show when the washer and dryer are running

I am also running into issues with motion sensors. They show motion when testing in the vera gui but no status update in c4. Going to try having the vera sensor turn on and off a virtual switch with scenes. Hide it in navigator and have c4 programimg follow its state

Tried tinkering with the driver for the un65mu6300 to control a un65ks8000 and in the documentation of the driver it says to go into network settings>expert settings> and turn on remote control and that isnt available on the 2016 tv so probably a bust at least for now

Depends on the motors, i would ask your shade guy but there are 2 wireless rts interfaces that connect to a RS232 port of a controller to be able to let c4 talk to them wirelessly so distance/range is a concern. Usually around $300

Plus using the IR to relay and IR to light drivers and programing IFTTT commands based on the state are nice in certain situations when experience buttons wont cut it

Plus the additional functionality of the IFTTT driver is so powerful. I highly recommend it because you we'll find all kinds of other things to add.

Sounds like he is probably overcharging for the speaker install but is definitely undercharging for the programing by at least 3 hours depending on expectations including training/comissioning. A wash is a wash
