  1. Thanks @Ilushka85 and @Christopher Spitler! Very helpful information!
  2. Thanks! Any thoughts as to whether Video Storm's driver would work better? Or, at least equally as well as Alanchow's driver? I'd prefer it since (1) it's no additional cost and (2) it sounds like the Video Storm driver can map the "guide" button to return home and the ability to map the color buttons to specific apps. Both seem like nice added conveniences, though neither is an absolute necessity to me. I just need be able to use the Kodi Full driver and also have an easy way to get to the Nvidia Shield home page and launch some key Nvidia Shield apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. Thanks!
  3. Hi @Ilushka85. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one trying to use this setup. Are you using the Alanchow or VideoStorm driver alongside your Kodi driver? Did you try the virtual switchers suggestion that @alanchow gave me here? I have not yet - I'm waiting on my programmer. If you do try it, or otherwise figure out how to make it work, can you report back?
  4. What is involved in installing a C4 switch? Is it any more complicated than installing a plain old light switch? As an end user, can I buy a C4 switch directly and then have a remote dealer to the programming?
  5. Thanks for all this great information @alanchow, @videostorm, and @Christopher Spitler!! You both are clearly very talented programmers, and also amazing contributors to this community!! Per some earlier communication with Alanchow, I understand it may not work if I were to run one of these Shield/IRUSB drivers alongside the Kodi Full driver. Alanchow mentioned trying to use a virtual switcher. I’m not sure what this is (note, I am just an end user trying to get as much info as possible to communicate my needs to a remote programmer). My end goals, in order of importance: Have a button on my SR-260 remote and in the iPad app that will launch the Nvidia Shield home screen. Have mini drivers/buttons so my wife and kids can easily launch the Nvidia Shield’s Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon apps. Continue using Alanchow’s Kodi Full driver (already purchased and setup on my EA-1 system) PLUS #1 & #2 above. With that said, I have two follow- questions. 1. Should I use the Alanchow or Video Storm driver? Or, are they both equally likely to work (or not work) for my situation? 2. Can anyone elaborate more on what a virtual switcher is, and how it would be setup in my situation? Thanks!!
  6. Has anyone compared the VideoStorm driver and the Alanchow driver with the Nvidia Shield? Are there any setup, functional, or other advantages of one over the other?
  7. Sorry for causing confusion!! I will move my question to its own thread. Thanks!
  8. Hi @alanchow. I don't see any way when I am controlling Kodi music or movies from my iPad to get back to the home screen on the Nvidia Shield. If I am controlling Kodi using the SR-260 remote, then I can go to the Kodi home screen, exit, and then I get to the Nvidia home screen. Am I missing something? Thanks!
  9. But do you also get the mini apps direct launch capability for Netflix and other apps when using the Kodi Full driver?
  10. I just received notification that my IRUSB has shipped which I plan to use to add an Nvidia Shield to my EA1 system. I already own the Kodi Full driver by @alanchow? Is there a driver that needs to be purchased for the Nvidia Shield? I plan to use the Shield for Kodi, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and YouTube. Is it possible to launch these apps direct... similar to how it can be done with Roku? Thanks!
  11. So, I swapped my Windows 10 HTPC for a Shield. I gave the Shield the same IP address that the PC previously had, and the Control4 connected to it right away. I still need to do some more testing, but so far, so good. Of course, I need to use the Shield remote to first launch the Kodi app. Can’t wait to get my IRUSB from @videostorm when they are back in stock later this month.
  12. Thanks again for the lead @eggzlot! Those Bali motorized blinds look like they will do the trick within my budget. @reddevils9892, can you tell me what is a “Vera?” Is this an extra part that would be required to use my C4 to control the Bali shades? Thanks!
  13. Is anyone aware of reasonable priced blinds or shades that will work with C4 system? I thought I read about some Lutron blinds that started at about $299, but I can’t find where I read that or maybe I was mistaken. I need two shades for my basement theater, and was hoping I could get something in the $200 to $300 range. Any recommendations?
  14. @alanchow, can you say a little more about what might make this a better option than running Kodi on an HTPC? As you may recall, I have been unable to resolve an issue where some buttons are not working with my Kodi Full Driver. So, I'm thinking maybe replacing my Windows 10 HTPC with a Shield. What do you think? Will I need a dealer to set this up? Thanks!
  15. Wow. Some great options. The ability to control volume with the Control4 switch could be very useful. I like the price of those Yeelights though too. Tough call all of a sudden.
  16. Didn't realize this C4 dimmer existed. I have just one switch that controls all 6 of these bulbs. So, cost of the C4 dimmer might actually be a little cheaper than the Hue. But, the ability to control the temperature and color with certain Hue lights seems like a pretty cool benefit of the Hue. Where can I learn more about the C4 dimmer? Thanks!
  17. I'm using the EA-1 for control in my media room. I've got half-dozen recessed lights in the room. It would be nice to add some light control to my system. I was thinking the Philips Hue system seemed like a nice, relatively affordable smart lighting system. It looks like the Hue is compatible with Control4, correct? Are there any other systems I should be considering? Thanks!
  18. My dealer (Magnolia AV) comes to do my install tomorrow. He wasn't sure whether he is required to pay and download the Koei Full driver, or whether I do that directly. Can you clarify how this works? It looks like the driver can be downloaded without a dealer login, but dealer login is required to purchase the license. Correct?

So, let's say the dealer installs the driver and I want to use the two day trial. What then? He has to come back in two days to buy and activate the license?

Please help walk me through the mechanics of this process.

    Thanks!

if you have coverart in movies you should get cover art for albums.  If you don't that means you have not setup Kodi correctly or the albums you have in your library do not have cover art.

cover art does not come up for artists, genres or other music items as Kodi does not have this information.

its hard to say what could be going on without looking at your system.

your dealer will need to submit a technical support ticket to our helpdesk on HouseLogix and provide them with logs, description of problem and a copy of the project.

Alanchow, I'm working on scheduling a time for my dealer to come and take a look. In the meantime, I just happened to be logged into my NAS and noticed that it is using port 8080 for its Web Administration. Could my problems have something to do with the fact that both the NAS and the Kodi HTPC are using port 8080? Or, does this not matter?

They are two seperate devices so it doesn't matter.  It only matters when they are on the same device.
