And will it give me temperatures in C4 as well as the other capabilities, like switching? I assume that from your response to Amr about making the binding.

That's correct, once you link the "Berto IOT Device" driver to a temperature sensor (Tasmota, zigbee2mqtt, zigbee2tasmota or Shelly) the temperature and humidity will be available in C4 programming. To have the temperature displayed on OSD you'll need to bind the "Berto IOT Device" driver to C4 generic temperature & humidity display driver.

In my case, I've asked my dealer to bind all the "Berto IOT Devices" temperature sensors to C4 generic temperature & humidity display drivers to have it displayed on OSD and easier programming in HE.

For example in my case: C4 will get the temperature from Aqara Zigbee sensor, if it's above a certain value it will close the Aqara Zigbee curtains, and if the humidity is high, it will turn on the A/C.

In bathrooms, if humidity reach to a certain value, C4 will turn on the exhaust using Aqara Zigbee wall switches for 15min.

In some areas, I'm using Aqara Zigbee motion sensors to turn on/off the light using Aqara Zigbee wall switches.

How is the Door/Window contact? Is these small enough? Am looking for the smallest ever. Also Temperature sensors, do u get the readings out to C4 screens?

The Aqara/Xiaomi door/windows contact are small (1.6 X 0.8 X 0.4 in). I'm not sure about binding the temperature sensors, I'll have to check with my dealer.

Any news anyone on the Zigbee front? Now Xiaomi, IKEA and Sonoff Devices are supported, much more to come ...

I'm using Berto driver with Xiaomi, IKEA, Aqaraand Sonoff zigbee devices. Tried the door/window contact, motion sensors, water leak, and Temperature sensors. I'm waiting for the Aqara and Xiaomi 1/2/3 gang zigbee switches to arrive.

By the way, the same driver will support TP-Link devices and Yeelight.

Thanks folks. I have an unRAID server that I use as a media server that also runs dockers for Unifi, PiHole, OpenVPN Server, SWAG, etc.As Amnr suggested, I bet you can use that. In fact, I actually have an MQTT broker installed when I played around with a couple of MQTT things a year or two ago, but I haven't really used it.

Is this a good site to see what devices are available? https://www.itead.cc/smart-home.html

Any other types of devices that you could use with MQTT?

You can use many devices with Tasmota, for example https://zigbee.blakadder.com/zigbee2tasmota.html

David is working on a universal driver that will cover almost any device in that list. For now all Sonoff Zigbee devices are good to go.

    I have these running:

I believe these devices will be added soon:

I'm also using these devices through MQTT/WIFI using the same drivers

Is there any documenation on how all of this works, what you have to do (flash chips, etc) and how you get it implemented into C4, and what types of devices it will work with?

First you have to decide between zigbee2mqtt or zigbee2tasmota on Sonoff Zigbee Bridge.

If you are using Sonoff Zigbee Bridge:

    Hardware required:

    • Sonoff Zigbee Bridge.
    • Raspberry Pi (to run the gateway & the MQTT Broker).
    • I've tested this setting  with Sonoff ZigBee button SNZB01, Temperature & Humidity sensor SNZB02, Motion sensor SNZB03

    Installation:

    1. Flash the Sonoff bridge with Tasmota, it's simple straight process, here's an example (https://youtu.be/aiUol1GQDlU). You'll also find other methods if you google the subject.
    2. You'll need to ask your dealer to install Berto drivers. Berto cloud, Berto gateway, and as many instances of Berto IOT Generic. Then you can continue with Composer HE.
    3. From the gateway driver click on the install the gateway, this will automatically setup the Raspberry gateway.
    4. Discover the gateway.
    5. Discover the devices.

    @Amr

Here is the way I have mine setup. All that is needed for basic control in the Berto_MQTTBridge configuration is the server info. Everything else for Sonoff relays is done through the Berto_SonoffRelay and Berto_RelayLight.  First make sure what topic you have configured as the Topic on the sonoff under Configuration> Configure MQTT and make sure that that is entered exactly (case sensitive) under the topic on the Berto_SonoffRelay configuration in composer.  Once that is verified then a standard connection needs to be made between Berto_SonoffRelay and the Berto_RelayLight.  Let me know if this helps or you have any more questions on it.

Berto's new driver can be setup without bindings.

Did any one tried a flashed Sonoff Zigbee Bridge yet? It’s very convenient device, am still looking for a way to map Zigbee devices to work with C4 ...

Zigbee devices can be easily flashed https://bit.ly/38pQOxZ

@david@berto.co.uk is working to add this bridge (and other brands) to his driver. By enabling C4 to integrate to zigbee2mqtt or zigbee2tasmota, we will have more options for motion & temperature sensors, windows & doors contacts, buttons & switches from Sonoff, IKEA, Xiaomi Mi and more.

  8. I was wondering if the Zigbee2mqtt devices work with Control4 Zigbee devices?
    What is Touchlink?
Touchlink is a feature of Zigbee which allows devices physically close to each other to communicate with each other without being in the same network.Note that not all Zigbee devices support Touchlink, but most bulbs of common brands like Philips and IKEA support this.
    https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/information/touchlink.html

Berto driver is working flawlessly with Control4. It currently supports zigbee2mqtt and soon will also support zigbee2tasmota.

  9. Chowmain has updated their TCP commands driver to work with Siri.
You create an event in the driver in Control4
You create a shortcut in IOS calling said url
    Documented in the driver.
    Hey Siri....

Is this driver communicating 2-ways with Control4?
  10. Last week I installed Sonoff strip lights in the kids rooms as hidden ceiling light along with @david@berto.co.uk IoT Dimmer driver. I already have Schedule It driver from @Cinegration for each family member syncing with his/her Gmail calendar. When the "Good Night" button is pressed on the room's keypad it turns off all the light and turn on the strip hidden light to level 1 as night light, it will change the color to light blue, if there is an online class next day it will change the color to light yellow.

I understand what you are trying to achieve but know this:

    - You will need to use Sonoff Mini’s

    - You have to install the Mini’s behind your toggle switches to be able to use the toggle or on/off switches

    - You need to flash each Sonoff Mini with Tasmota and configure it to be used either with Toggle or On/Off

    - You need to have an MQTT Broker on Server or NAS running all the time

    - You need to use David’s Berto C4 Driver

I suggest to have this setup on secondary loads not your primary ones (lighting) and use C4 Panelized Dimmers/Switches with 2xIO extenders for using the Relays to do the Job.  This is not only cost effective but robust as well.

I also use C4 in-Wall Puck Dimmers and Switches to have a decent Zigbee Mesh that is needed for remotes!

I used Sonoff Mini’s (16) to automate the rest of house that is not primary lighting, very very solid, zero issues.

This solution is rock solid at my house, almost every single light.
