Breaking the law? Not so much unless they signed a non disclosure which means civil not criminal penalties.

Neo1738 reacted to ILoveC4 in Building New Home
Yeah man...this isn’t my first rodeo. I’d rather spend a few grand a month for 9 months than $27k in one hit. Net net doesn’t change but it feels better.

Neo1738 reacted to jackstone in Anyone used a Lutron QSE-CI-NWK-E... with C4 driver recently?? Need to know if it’s a working driver on 2.10.x
The driver will discover the blinds automatically but remember to set Integration ID to all the blind you want to control, it's mandatory. This is done through the Action menu of the blinds driver.
Also if you plan to control a group of blinds, use the prodived driver, NOT the one from the C4 database. My group driver build a true blind group and allow you to control it using a nice slider, truly simultaneously. It also feedback the average level of the blinds in group.

Neo1738 reacted to WhyPhy in Trane HVAC system
I can say with complete certainty that the Ecobee 4 can control Heat Pumps with up to 4 stages each. https://support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006077367-What-types-of-HVAC-systems-are-ecobee-thermostats-compatible-with-
You have 4 zones, and most likely, it's the Trane Comfortlink II proprietary zone controller is being used. That zone controller is not compatible with standard/conventional thermostat 5-wire (R, G, Y, W, C) configurations and instead requires the XL1050 thermostat. So it's most likely a Zone Controller compatibility issue, not a Trane Heat Pump compatibility issue.
A Trane dealer knows Trane equipment, and that's what they are going to sell you. That is the highest-end multi-zone system Trane makes. I think it's overly complicated and expensive for what still feels like a dated user interface, but it will definitely get the job done.
I'm pretty sure they could use Ecobee thermostats and an Aprilaire 6404 zone controller or an EcoJay 4-zone SmartZone controller instead. But they won't be familiar with those controllers and won't want to warranty it. Go with what your HVAC installer knows. (FYI, my local Trane HVAC company switched from Trane to Aprilaire thermostats and zone controllers for these and other reasons.)

Google Assistant works with over 10,000 smart home devices from more than 1000+ popular brands
That is nearly 10 times more devices than it did at the start of this year.
There are more than 200 million devices in people’s homes, made up of over 10,000 smart devices from over 1,000 brands—including +Nest, +LG Electronics,
+ADT, August, +SimpliSafe Home Security, Vivnt and +VIZIO—that work with the Google Assistant.
At the start of the year, Google boasted compatibility with 1,500 devices. By May, the number was up to 5,000 devices with Google Assistant either built-in or integrated through app or platform support. Doubling again to 10,000 in early October demonstrates strong growth among third-party manufactures committing to the platform. This is notable in part because it shows that the number of smart home devices supported by Google Assistant has grown nearly 10 fold in just nine months.
