  1. I gave up trying to work out Ruckus pricing a long time ago. Just be happy, keep on flashing them yourself, and never ever pay the MSRP.
  2. There's a business in there somewhere
  3. That is a really great little device. Wattbox has never been worth the money in my opinion. They can't even get a damned C4 driver that works as advertised.
  4. I use the Chowmain driver - works fine. Driver licensing is per project. You will need one box per zone, and they connect via wi-fi. Be sure that your wi-fi coverage is good enough to reach all the boxes, especially if they are tucked away in a service closet or something. Easy connection of the Intesis box into the CN105 port inside the Mitsubishi unit.
  5. Intesis works well for me. Only two zones, but it's been pretty much rock solid. Scheduling through C4is a bit of a pain, but that's more a problem with the stat proxy than anything related to Intesis.
  6. Make sure that you buy the Smartbridge Pro, not the regular Smartbridge. Only the Pro will allow you to integrate. There's also a device limit of 50/75, depending on which driver you use.
  7. IP address has changed on your receiver. Simple fix but you'll need a dealer to put it right.
  8. That's great thanks - will give that a go first.
  9. Hmmm... looks like there are not discrete power or input IR codes for this soundbar. I've been searching Remote Central, and even downloaded the Harmony file onto an old Logitech remote to see what they had. No dice.
  10. Do most of the standard Samsung TV IR drivers in the database include a discrete for power ?
  11. Does anyone have a driver for a Samsung HW-J650 soundbar ?
  12. I was hoping that the experience here might help to decide between these two devices for a very specific use case. It's to achieve C4 IR control of a generic Android box, but just for one app. No need for mini drivers etc, I will create one simple IR driver for a few standard transport controls using a cable box proxy. My question is - which of these devices (in normal conditions) is faster ? I think I recall reading about lag with the IRUSB, but perhaps those of you who have experience with either could chime in. Any discernible difference in response vs each other, or vs just using a Z2IO ?
  13. This will help you - but only if you have the newer generation of Sonos Amp :
  14. 2x Unifi AC-PRO. Switched out for Ruckus 710 and 610. Also had 2x Araknis 700 previously. It's not even a close comparison, Ruckus just works. No dead spots, blazing speeds, great handoff, easy setup. Not cheap, but these days, wi-fi at home has become something worth really spending for. We have 300/300 fiber, and we get most of that anywhere in the house over the wi-fi on any device that's reasonably modern. The 750 is a step up, but really only if you have a lot of simultaneous traffic. Offices with 100 people joining/leaving continuously for example.
  15. I've had Unifi, Araknis and Ruckus in my own home. Ruckus blew the other two away.
  16. I know that. That's why they are piling up in my storage. I'll use 2.10.6 for a cheap office setup. Just playing around on a Sunday, and I don't want to spend any money if I don't have to. I'd rather use some of this stuff than throw it away.
  17. Just seeing if I can use a bunch of old equipment to get my office under C4 control. I seem to have accumulated a stack of HC-250's/SR-250's etc. over the years. I've got a TCL Roku TV - I know that I can use the Blackwire IP driver, but does anyone have an IR driver already working that I can try first ? Just feeling 'economical' today
  18. Is anyone here able to source Ruckus at great prices, or perhaps has a couple of R610 or R510 WAPs surplus to requirements ?
  19. That helps, thanks. Now I'll check if that fixes some of the strange display on/off behavior when changing sources.
  20. Just interested - would the only reason to have this property enabled be to use the HDMI audio as one of the 5 possible streams on an EA-5 ?
  21. Trying to figure out a small problem with announcements into the kids bedrooms. I have an 8 zone C4/Triad Amp, 8x8 C4 AV matrix and an EA-5. I've never hooked up the ceiling speakers in the kids rooms, but I have some spare zones so I thought that would be a good thing to do - they can have a TIDAL stream each, and in return I can play announcements for dinner time etc. Their existing C4 setup for their bedrooms simply consists of a Roku TV and some lighting. The video end point is The Roku TV, and Audio End Point 1 is the TV. Video Volume 1/Audio Volume 1 is obviously also the Roku TV. I added a zone of the Amp to be Audio End Point 2, and Audio Volume 2 is the corresponding zone of the AV matrix. This works fine for playing TIDAL, and controlling volume works as expected. However - when I add the room in Announcement Agent, I get a problem with setting the volume, due to a lack of 'discrete volume control'. It works in the master bedroom, but this only has one Video/Audio end point. What am I doing wrong ? As you can see, the volume settings are greyed out on the two kids rooms. Assuming that I can fix this, what's the best text-to-speech driver for announcements ? Something that my wife can use from a touch screen/app. And/or can they be triggered by an Alexa command in the kitchen if they are pre-programmed ?
