  1. Try using bond. Bond works great for all sort of blind motors and then you integrate bond into c4. Your dealer will have to purchase the 2 way modular from chowmain but worth every penny!! Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  2. From the experience that you listed you should have no problem in the 4 day class. You'll probably even be a little bored lol But for the agenda, A basically goes like this period the 1st couple hours your following along and taking notes. If you go in person they will give you the big Finder like notebook but if you take it online like we all are now because the covin you will have to print it out yourself. Here's a tip if you have a staples for a Office depot kind of place, You can go there and have them printed in card stock and bind it for you. It cost Around $90-$100 But worth every penny. Some people just printed it out on regular paper and you can tell it was nothing but trouble for them. I printed it myself on card stock but then also went to staples and had them do it. It made it easier to take notes and way easier to look stuff up when I needed to during the exam and the lab's. The instructor will even tell you what to take notes on and where to write it in your book and then usually the 2nd half is a real world experience lab right out of the same notebook. Your going to learn how to Program all AV stuff including tvs and multi zone sound systems and your also going to learn how to program the c4 dimmer switches and other wireless switches. ( I never saw the hype about their switches until I bought some for myself, install them in program them. Worth every penny I have almost my whole house in C4 dimmer switches and multi switches and all of them engraved) The next morning of day-to-day will go through the lab that you did the night before and then start the new lesson. They will teach you all about composer pro, You learn things you never knew were even possible with home automation. Like I said in my last post I came from a URC world but also did Lutron and of course all the little homeowners the wave hubs like wink and smart things and so on and so forth. I now see the true benefit of going to a professional system. Will show you how to add customers and how you give customers access to certain areas. You can even make money from customers with insight a naked even get composer HE which will let them do some things but not everything. They have to get a licence from you which is from control for I now see the true benefit of going to a professional system. 3. We can't share too much Because we were warned that if we give any answers or any of the questions to the exam we would lose our licensing/certification. But the way their doing the 4 day class now is pretty awesome. Because of covin you don't have to travel to them anymore. I don't know there still doing it this way but I got to do it with one of my computers had zoom and the whole class was on the same zoom meeting and then I had another computer Log on to a program called Teamviewer. Teamviewer is so you can log in to one of their stations in Salt Lake City to program c4 system. I chose to do the Chicago class because the class starts at 9:00 a.m. and I live in Florida so I am an hour ahead of them so really my class started at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time period that gave me time for him to go to the office and get all my guys out for the day and still be able to run My business. Once the class starts I had My phone on silent because you really do want to pay attention. They give you plenty of opportunities for breaks and lunch, even at the end couple hours of class it's mostly lab. If you have to choose which location I would highly recommend the Chicago class as my instructor was absolutely amazing. I can't remember the name of the gentleman that man the Salt Lake City terminals but he is probably one of the most knowledgeable C for programmers I've ever met. He was there to make sure all of the stations ran smoothly and all the equipment. Really the only time the problem wasn't solved right away is when the person on the other side, but student, could not follow directions or just didn't listen lol. It was amazing to watch him grade the final exam lab. Hes done so many it's like 2nd nature but the cool thing was that if something didn't work when he hit a button , He didn't just mark it off he then at the end went through the actual written programming to either see if it's right and it was a hardware issue or it was wrong but then he took a second and explained what you did wrong. That was cool because even though he was the only one besides the main instructor grading the lab exams he still cared enough to take a second and explain what you did wrong and how you could do it differently in the future. . The only thing that could read class better is if they would have made it a 5 day class instead of 4. I know that's a lot but a 5th day would have been nice to really go over 3rd party integrations, IR codes that are not in their database and how to proceed and a couple other items. I know that's a lot but a 5th day would have been nice to really go over 3rd party integrations, IR codes that are not in their database and how to proceed and a couple other items. Since I was coming from a URC Total Control 2.0 World, Where their databases have just about every device known to man, It took me a minute or 2 on my 1st c4 job to figure out how to find different IR codes and how to change and build custom drivers. I was a little spoiled with URC and how easy they make their Build a driver program but now that I'm immersed in C4 I see a lot of pluses and minuses and different benefits. I Will probably never go back to URC and stick with C4 for life but always keep my option open to maintain the urc jobs I have out there and of course if a customer really want URC I would still do it but really try to talk them into Control 4. URC definitely has the advantage when programming with their accelerator That automatically billed to macros and layouts but C4 has a more rock solid program. Like I said there's pluses and minuses for both and I guess it all depends on what direction the customer wants to go in. The class has a lot of good hands on programming and the manual For the class that you print out I still used to this day for a good reference. Hope that helps answers your question Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  4. I love it and now I am going to have to try it too :-) great idea!!! I am the same way at night Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  5. I can't take the credit for this as I took it from another user from a different thread but you can probably use this Bluetooth device that will talk right into your amp. It looks pretty cool I might even get one myself https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Adapter-Streaming-Wireless-Speakers/dp/B016NUTG5K/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=bluetooth+receiver&qid=1596766662&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFSVTBHQ0w3UzNBMEwmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyMDM0MjQyTU9US1ZBME1MUjVYJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyMTU1MTQyTTlDVDBKNU5aVjBUJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  6. Basically I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that help and give great advice on here! And this is why I love tap talk and all you senior c4 programmers out there. Some of us on here are still pretty new with control 4 and still learning about the AV world, Like myself. I have been a state certified licence electrical contractor for over 20 years. Grew up in the family business and always stuck to 120 volts and up. Occasionally running some TV or phone lines and of course the doorbell and garage door sensors but mostly sticking to the higher voltage stuff. With the changing world a couple years ago I finally started dabbling in Low voltage and got into running networks and even the smalle home automation game. I started out with the simple wink systems and smart things but as my appetite grew so did my knowledge for more. I then crossed over and went to Clare controls And that's when everything kind of took off. Then got to offer monitored alarms and some small home automation. I wasn't satisfied and then I got into URC and really loved it but always wanted to do control 4. But honestly just did not have the time to leave my business for a week to go to training. Then the covid epidemic hit and training was offered live from your Home Office via Skype and TeamViewer. Well finally I got certified in C4 and have never looked back. It has opened up my business to another field and I still have so much to learn. The point of this little epilogue is I really want to thank all of the people on here that take the time to answer some of our questions and really give us some good pointers. I know some of our newby questions are just that newbie questions but most of You guys on here Never be little us and make us feel stupid for the simple questions because I think a lot of you understood that you guys were there once before to. I love how I can come on to tap talk and sometimes ask the most basic questions and when I get the answer, and i am like " oh yeah that makes plenty of sense" and I probably already knew it all the way up to the indebt questions when you want to do some really cool programming or find an amazing driver. So thank you to all Of you seniors techs, programmers and other professional av people out there. I don't speak for everyone but I think a lot of the newbies out there will agree, Thank you very much for all of your help!!! Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk

  8. Dealer cost is $334 amd it is an all in 1 panel. And the integration is supper easy. 2 clicks on composer Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  9. I did in another thread. Thw clareone panel is amazing. It is very easy to integrate into clareone and it makes adding a security system to a customer's house a breeze. Clare controls and the clareone panel is the only choice that my company now uses Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  10. So i think I get it.. what about something like mysmartblinds by tilt. They are wifi automated blinds that work off of there hub and can integrate with alexa, but i would really love to control them through c4. Whats your guys thoughts? Here is there website for more info in the blinds https://www.tiltsmarthome.com/ Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  11. I know that the integration between nest and everyone in the world has basically stopped and now that have a works with Google format, but does anyone know or has anyone heard of any future integration with nest coming back? I have. Client that loves there nest doorbell. Well we just installed a fairly large c4 system with lighting in 7 rooms, 4 auto zones and 2 table top touch screens, plus the clareone panel for the alarm. I know that door bird is a great solution And works well but the customer truly does not want to spend any more money and we Have already discounted some items just to get the job so I cannot justify giving him a free door, Even if it is one of the $300 cheaper ones. We only discounted the job because we are new to c4 and trying to get our name out there but I would love a solution to get the nest doorbell To integrate with C4. So back to the original question, Has anybody heard anything coming down-the-line. Its August 4th 2020 if you're reading this. Any help would be great they appreciated. Just want to give them aSolid truthful answer. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  12. is this an old post? The ea series processors and t3 panels have been out for a while now. Unless I am missing something here. Are there newer ones supposed to be coming out? I just bought another ea3 and ea1 for a customer and 2 7 inch t3 screens and a 10 inch screen. If they are already being replaced with new ones, Im going to be so mad. Better yet my customer is going to be so mad as they just spent a lot of money with me
  13. I take that back, I had to do it twice but the second time it worked. Thank you every one that helped I really do appreciate it. Being new to C4 and coming from URC background, somethings are a little bit different. Thank you again!!!
  14. Ok did that. I was making sure that i did the right thing and that still did not work. I appreciate all the help. I might have to call c4 Ugh
  15. ok so I am new to c4 and just did the 4 day class a month ago. A little help please. I updated composer and also refreshed navigator and still no luck. When I added the 10" i added it to the family room by using the discovery tap. still a little lost any help would be very grateful Like I said I am still learning we have all been there.
  16. How do I update the os version on the touch screen? all of the 7" ones came with the correct os version. The 10" says 2.10.xxx
  17. Ok so I got my ClareOne and a second one for a client. I have it installed in my own house and the alarm part of it works great. it integrated into c4 with little effort. but the only thing from the ClareOne panel by Clare controls that will integrate into c4 is the alarm part of it. Nothing else. No zwave no nothing. Which is fine for me as I am truly only using the ClareOne panel for the alarm part of it. Everything else is through C4. The lighting is through either C4 dimmer and switches or Lutron caseta switches and dimmers. I find if I install and set up a Lutron caseta system first and then start a c4 program in composer, I will integrate caseta first and the caseta basically creates all my rooms and everything in composer for me once I integrate caseta. It makes it so I dont have to do the work twice!!
  18. I got a new 10 inch touch screen from c4 the other day and I added it to composer pro, installed it and all I am getting is a blue screen with an intercom icon on top. The blue screen looks like water. I have refreshed navigator in composer pro, I am running the latest version of composer and navigator. It shows it is connected in composer and has its own network ip address. I have rebooted and tried just about everything. What am I doing wrong? all the other 7 inch screens work fine. I am at a lose Help...
  19. Doesn't c4 now have a zwave add on module? Or is that only for the ea10 ? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  20. I was going to reach out to the help desk but honestly we're kind of sticking with control4 for now on. I did send in my request to change my dealer account to control4 so we can use and show the different drivers to our clients but I have not heard back yet. We love all the work you guys are doing at chowmain and drive central. Keep it up, very impressed and love showing off all the drivers you guys make to our clients !!! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  21. I don't know if anyone has talked about bond yet but if not I figure I will start the conversation. Bond by chowmain is absolutely awesome!! First off, the bond hub is a nice answer to the rf fireplaces and fan remotes, even blinds. But the chowmain driver for control4 is simply amazing. I just installed it yesterday at our showroom and was amazed how easy it was to set up. We also are URC certified and have tried the bond module for URC and still can't gey it to work right, the the control4 one is just amazing. It even shows up on the gui as a regular switch or dimmer or fan control. If you have not tried the chowmain bond module then you really should You can pick up a bond hub from home depot or Amazon for around $99 . Wr even added our cheap rf controlled projector screen remote on it. So now when you hit the macro for projector movie time, the projector screen comes down, projector turns on, surround sound on, TV off, blinds close, lights are dimming and a couple other items all in 1 hit of a button and no running relay and contact wires !! Bravo chowmain.... bravo!!! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  22. I am very new as I just got certified 3 weeks ago. I have done urc for many years and was able to customize the gui any way you could think of. I make no qwams about being new at control4 and did not hid that from my customers. I have an amazing reputation in my town for being a great electrical contractor and home Automator so people trust me because I at times brutally honest Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  23. My clareone panel will be here Monday. I will share more Monday night Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  24. I am using the latest version 3.1.x and using a brand new 7" touch screen That is a shame that they got rid of this. I sold a system the other day and the home owners bought it on the fact that they love the look of the gui. The one with the icons in a circle like i posted. I don't know how I am going to explain that control4 changed it and we can't go backwards. Why change to a boring gui that they have now? The look of the gui was there main buying point. I know it sounds crazy but people like what they like. Now what [emoji15] ? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  25. Sorry for a newbie question but it's driving me nuts . How do I get the navigator to display the icons in a circle with control4 in the middle? See picture. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
