prabeau
Looking at buying an HC 800 on eBay. Was in a working project and seller saying it was reflashed. What does this imply.... no operating system onboard....... What would I need to do if I ever had to use it to replace the HC800 in my project. Thanks
0 -defunct-
Buy the hardware, set up cloud backups, when/if the primary controller dies, call a dealer to swap the system to the new controller.
0 -defunct-
Reflashed likely means reset to the factory OS.
0 sonic30101
Will this be director? If so probably needs to be HC800-BL1 for the licenses unless you have them paired to your c4 account.
0 prabeau
If I used it to replace my current HC 800 ( if it dies on me ) I have an account , license now with this controller.
0 -defunct-
So your current hc800 is not a BL1 model and 4sight works? If so, I believe you would be fine with any HC800.
0 prabeau
Yes 4sight since 2012, same dealer installer. Project works great just thought I would pickup a spare 800 just in case. No advantage for me to spend $ for an EA5.

I will wait beyond EA, my rule here if it works don’t touch it, people heavily invested in C4 system like myself will for sure break the bank moving to 3.0, so I’ve decided to wait, save some as well and will decide later.
