I would say most would for a corporate setting as well but what about real estate or insurance offices with like 5-10 people. i think this is where unifi fits in (along with the home market).
That and the "nobody ever got fired for buying IBM" corporate mentality. Cisco is always a safe bet for networking. Even if they had lots of problems no one would get in trouble or question why you would go with Cisco.
When i look at all the integrators on instagram it seems to me that Unifi is by far the most popular residential/small business networking vendor (small sample I am sure). When i view corporate campuses or universities or hospitals it seems to be mostly Cisco AP's (again probably a small sample).
If you asked the average person to look at this device and the C4 touchscreen they couldn't tell the difference.
Looking around at documentation it appears that this device cant do the intercom function.
Now that I think about it, I would think Resideo will try to get Control4 into their Total Connect platform. Will be interesting to see where this heads. Potential for a lot of corporate bloat but also potential for some tight integrations with existing smart home brands.
does this really mean anything for Control4? i doubt anything for them really changes. it just looks like they are now part of a bigger company doing the same thing Snap was.
There are no differences in computing power between the EA-1 and the EA-3. They are the same. There is no technical basis for saying i would see an improvement moving director to the EA-3.
Ok thanks. Surprised it is less powerful than an ea-1 since it is new but if they are really trying to keep it to one room then that makes sense. I ask because I see lots of people think you have to had to have an ea-3 or ea-5 for a whole home (when they were the latest controllers) when depending on what existing audio and other third party decides you had an ea-1 would have been plenty. Right now I have an ea-1 acting as my main controller and an ea-3 being used for audio only. Will probably switch the ea-1 for a CORE 1 and the ea-3 for a Sonos port when the time comes I have to upgrade.
I have a Roku Ultra at every one of my TV locations except one which is a TCL Roku TV. They just work. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. I do have an Apple TV in my office as well and its definitely a better product but not enough to replace the Roku Ultra's with it everywhere.
So what is actually your issue? Is it that the Macbook you have the unifi network application running on is disconnecting to the AP's? If so this is probably due to the fact that the macbook goes to sleep. i dont think you really have a problem at all.
Whatever works then i guess but seems it would have been better to go with a full unifi setup and forget the Araknis if you are going to use their APs.
