Does anyone know if and which Ruckus AP's can be flashed to the Snap (Access Networks) unleashed FW? Have a client that is wanting to deep dive into OvrC and doesn't want to have to go through the steps to have access and control over Ruckus. He claims that they show up differently in OvrC, but I haven't seen the project yet to know.

I have had some hardware changes to my network, and this changed the IP address. The wifi name and password are exactly the same as before, but I have had to refresh all devices in the house because of this. The Control4 system will not connect so I assume the wifi needs to be signed into again for it. Can I do that or does the dealer need to do that? Have not found where I can do it, so assume I can’t. System is down.

Hi! I'm integrating a C4 system using an EA3 which I use to create spotify devices for streaming recieving, the thing is that suddently my spotify app stopped sending sound and the music started skipping pased around 12-30 seconds, the first time this happend, we lost the electricity in the home and when it came back everything was fine and the spotify started working as it should, but some time after the problem came back and I'm not pretty sure what's causing it. I've tried rebooting the devices, creating a new Spotify Device and nothing seems to work. Something weird is that in other installation, where we also have C4, it's happening the same issue with spotify b…

Hi - having issues with a Spectrum/Unifi setup. Spectrum modem goes into Spectrum router. From there, it goes to a Unifi 24 port unmanaged POE switch. Unifi WAPs, cloud key etc are plugged into the switch. Here's the issue - if I plug a laptop directly into the router, I get a working internet connection with an IP address in the 192.168.1.x range. If I plug into the switch, I can't access the internet, and the laptop (and the cloud key) gets an IP address in the range 192.168.50.x What's going on here ? The damn Spectrum router is locked down - it doesn't have a proper web portal, just directs you to an app, which doesn't contain normal settings like LA…

Hi All, I have an EA5 controller that in the evening stops working with my most of my hardware, such as Android app, tv's, sky box, halo remotes. However my denon amp still changes the volume. All are IP connected. Also SR260 still works and that is how I know the volume works. I can still ping the controller, but composer states 'querying ' when trying to connect. My network has not changed recently, although it is a miss match of stuff. Any help pointing me where to look would be great thank you. Cheers Andy Sent from my SM-S901B using Tapatalk

My neighbor's network was not set up properly a few years ago and he has been complaining so I went over to take a look. The main issue, at least with his wifi, is that the person set up 6 Unifi AP's but all as single devices, no controller running the program. So roaming around the house causes drop outs as you move between the devices. I have 4 Unifi APs and I have an old Cloud Key but I see those are not available anymore and the Cloud Gateway Ultra seems to be the basic entry to get the APs into 1 controller. The thing is, the new device is also a router. He is using the Optimum/Cablevision supplied router. I don't really want to get involved in callin…

Does anyone know an easy way to see what is connected to each port? I need to move some APs to a different switch and I'm unsure where they are plugged in

Hello, I am hoping someone can help. I am running an Araknis 220 router. Long story short, although it is way over my head, the working theory is that the router is blocking “DNS rebinding” and I need to setup an exception in the router. I cannot find anywhere to do it. Does anyone know if such an exception is possible with the router and if so, where do I do it? Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have been running a new AN-220-SW-R-24-POE for a few weeks now. It is my first POE switch so I am not sure what to expect. The switch is running about 20% of its 190watts for POE and the current temp is registering at 90 degrees F. The fan seems to always be on, which is fine, but last night, the switch started making a slightly whining sound, like almost a quiet whistle. I had moved the switch in the rack one slot down, but otherwise, have not made any changes. The fan to the right side is completely unblocked. I am assuming the current 90 degree temp is fine but should I be considered about the new noise? Thanks!

I am looking for some help with a Ubiquiti network issue and willing to pay for remote assistance to get it resolved. My Dream Machine Pro seems to be not working correctly and may be related to a recent operating system update along with 6 APs not being updated at the same time and or other possible issues including hardware issues. I'm on fiber and the modem is working fine. Located in Knoxville TN but ideally could pay someone to login remotely during the day and or wait until this evening when I am home to talk through troubleshooting steps over the phone, etc.

As I posted in another thread, I have changed my network from an all Netgear Nighthawk setup to a Arakanis router (220) and switch (24 port 220 series) plus three Unifi WiFi 7 APs. For the most part, the transition has been smooth, except for my DNS server mess up that resulted in the loss of my Core 3 (but I eventually fixed). I seem to be having one lingering problem, however. Currently, I am using my MacBook as the controller for the three Unifi APs (but it is not running 24/7). I like how much more control I have over them using a controller. However, I am having repeated instances of the APs showing as being disconnected from the controller. Yet, the actual APs…

Hi, I just replaced my UPD-Pro after it had been down for a few months. After installing the new one, resetting the switches and access points, re-adopting everything, and updating all the firmware, I am experiencing the APs disconnecting and reconnecting. I have two APs, and both are UAP-nanoHD. The weird thing is they both drop and reconnect at the same time. This is happening multiple times a day. I have turned off messing, turned off managed by Global AP Settings, turned off band steering, and turned off nightly channel optimization. The only thing I can think of is they are set to DHCP and not static. (I had everything set to static prior …

Anyone try the new routers yet? Or even the new switches? Any thoughts? The specs look nice but Araknis has a rough reputation I feel like.

Wonder what the network pros recommend in setting up multiple network switches? Do you just daisy chain them? Cascade? Use uplink ports? using araknis 210 and 110 series switches

For those of you who are using a non-ISP router instead of, or a non-ISP router in addition to the router/gateway supplied by the ISP, which of the following installation configuration methods do you use: The non-ISP router is installed behind the ISP router/gateway. Both the ISP router and the non-ISP gateway are configured to perform DHCP, resulting in a double-NAT configuration. The non-ISP router is installed in the advanced DMZ of the ISP router/gateway. DHCP is provided by the ISP router/gateway and the non-ISP router is configured to be a DHCP client The non-ISP router is installed behind the ISP router/gateway and is configured in bridge mode; DH…

I recently switched a smart home over to C4. I am having problems connecting to the system without being directly plugged into the switch. I am able to get on composer using the IP address for the controller while on wifi but not remotely. Has anyone had this issue before? Could it possibly be problems with the ports? I am assuming its something in the networking.

Hi, I am having trouble with Mikrotik router configuration for Control4 MDU intercom. I have followed C4's port forwarding guide, but it still doesn't work. Would anybody know or be to advise on what might be missing/wrong? Thanks!

I am looking for someone that would be willing to help me fix and setup a Unifi network. Recently as in 3 days ago my UDM Pro decided to spontaneously factory reset itself. After the reset, it worked for about 5 minutes then went into recovery mode. I touch the screen to allow it to recover and it went through the process but went right back into recovery mode. I then manually reset the UDM-Pro and it worked for 5 minutes but again went into recovery mode. When it did work for 5 minutes, although it would not adopt anything as it said they were under another controller. Since the switch is right there in the rack, I did try to reset both the switch and the UDM …

Hi all I (think) i'm having a network issue and I'm wondering if someone can lend a hand and help. My house network seams pretty reliable and my Control4 system is rock solid. I thought I was having issues with my ISP because every once in a while my internet drops out but after some tests today I'm wondering if its my network. I read here in a post about PingPlotter and decided to download a trial today and run some tests. I am by no means a network guy and don't know what the data output of ping plotter means so I'm wondering if someone can help interpret it for me. My setup is as follows; ISP's modem - its basic, no bells and whistles. Its just a m…

Just moved into a new home. A 2020 build. Although it was fully wired for cable TV (coax to every room), there is no ethernet cable and no speaker wiring. I got a TP-Link Deco X55 (AX3000) (2 pack) at my brother-in-laws recommendation. "Grab a couple to use for now and you might decide you don't need to pull cat6 everywhere." I've been impressed so far. Plugged in the PC to the second unit and got gigabit speeds out of it without a wired backhaul. And the wifi coverage (2800 sq ft, 4BR/3BA) is amazing compared the Unifi AC-Pro I had temporarily setup. Now that I'm getting back into Control4, does Deco play nice? Still waiting on my controller and Halo to arrive.

I just bought a pass through connector and plugs. It takes me forever to make a successful plug as I find it hard to keep the wires in the correct order and push them through the plug without them bunching up or switching order. And you really have to detwist the wires as well. Anyone have any secrets or are these not as useful as they are made out to be? How much of each wire do you want when you strip the outer sheath? Or do I just have crappy push through plugs?

I have a Control4 EA5 and there appears to be a connection issue while trying to remote connect. I can VPN remotely and the EA5 works fine on the LAN. This came to light when I lost connection with Alexa C4 skill. About a month earlier, I changed my router to a UI Dream Station. Everything else on my network appears to be working fine. I have seen some old articles that indicate a problem between Ubiquiti and C4, but all of it old and not specific setting changes. Can someone help me determine what changes I need to make to my UDR to get C4 to connect remotely, and hopefully this will enable me to connect Alexa. As a note, my installer does not do networking, s…
