Its – home (main menu) > more > supervisor functions > advanced settings > power and hard drive > file sharing enabled.

then you can \\ipaddress\media to access the internal hdd.

Thanks Matt. I am sure I would have spent tons of time trying to chase that down.

Does the EVA8000 driver work flawlessly with the 9000? Do all the keys on the remote map over correctly or will my dealer need to modify the driver?

Oh, I thought from the post email you were referring to the *other* black box in the corner that was a nice representation without a specific release date or plan.

The one you're talking about wasn't really *in the corner*...

have no idea how .iso hd will work. I will say that I just realized that c4 does not scan for either .mkv or .mts so you won't get those files with cover art in the video section. Hopefully, c4 can add that in later.

after spending more time with the netgear, the cover art section is functional and fast. not as neat as c4's video section, but considering it will show most file formats and does a bunch of other stuff, its a pretty nifty device.

What happens if you rename the MKV files 'AVI' or 'MPG', will they still play via the 9150? If so then that would solve the cover art issue.

I tried that on one of the file formats and it did not play through c4. just to correct my quote, as ryan stated, you can type in a file format and c4 will scan and find it. but as you point out, it won't automatically find the cover art. I hope c4 can add this functionality.

There is *NO WAY* Control4 can add that functionality without just relying on the filename, and doing some sort of keyword-lookup on filename, which is not going to be accurate enough to do 'automatic' cover art lookup.

The way the 777 (and the .IFO) scanning works, it checks the table of contents, which lists all the titles, chapters, etc. on the disc, which is pretty unique for a fingerprint of which disc it is, so it's right if it finds that fingerprint.

Edited to add: That's why when you 're-master' a movie without the commercials, FBI warning, etc., the Control4 system won't automatically find it, since the TOC has changed.

The name 'playground days' might be a kids' movie, it might be a porno of the same name, Control4 would have no way of knowing, and getting it wrong is a pretty bad move.

ISO Bluray's dont work with the 9150

what error do you get? How's the Bluray disk encoded?

It is an ISO of Transformers. It says "Unable to play this media. The media could not be opened, or the location is not accessible.". regular DVD ISOs work fine

If you open up the ISO image (daemon tools etc) do you see a BDMV directory? ISO is just an image container, although I wouldn't be surprised if the netgear assumes a VIDEO_TS structure for it by default...

I played around with mine last night and it did a great job adding .VOB files and finding the coverart automatically. There were a couple of movies I had to search for the coverart using composer, but all in all it went well.

I was able to watch one of the .VOB's with no buffering issue. The volume was really quiet at first versus where it is with other audio sources, but a quick change in audio settings to -6DB made is perfect.

I did use folder2ISO to change one of the .VOB's to an .ISO, but the EVA wouldn't play that one for some reason. No biggie, I will just use .VOB's since those work so well.

I haven't tried any blueray or HD content yet, I hope to do that this weekend. I need to get a BlueRay reader in my computer first.
