It really depends on how your lights are currently wired, do you have centralised lighting? In terms of fittings you can use whatever you like so long as it doesn’t exceed the power rating of the Control4 switches and dimmers, that’s if you’re using normal 110v/230v fittings. Low voltage fittings is an option too. In terms of outdoor speakers, would you like speakers around your garden? These kits also come with subwoofers you have to burry and they are pretty cool. Or just some wall mounted outdoor speakers? You might have space on your current amplifier, if you send some pictures I’ll for sure be able to help you Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
zaphod
I have both. For speakers I have bought Yamaha outdoor speakers from Amazon. They are powered by a C4 four zone matrix amp in my pool cabana. I also have a set on my deck that are powered from an amp that is inside the house - I had a hole drilled and run the speaker wire from an amp inside the house. For landscape lighting I have low voltage lighting controlled by regular C4 dimmers. Some of the dimmers are inside and some are in the pool cabana. They have survived Canadian winters for over a decade.
eggzlot
I have some outdoor lights on a C4 switch and others in a C4 Outlet Switch (Low voltage ones with a transformer) If you want something fancy look at https://www.fxl.com/product/transformers/designer/luxor which integrates into C4. I have FX lights but basic ones, not these automated/color control lights. Even the "cheap" FX lights (and I say cheap but they aren't big box store cheap, just the lower end FX) are really nice quality. Had them only a year so cannot comment on long term quality. For music - as mentioned you have speakers on the wall under soffits, you have planters with speakers, spikes in the ground that act as speakers, etc. lots of options
Control4Savant
FXL is baller stuff, you cant go wrong. A lot of the "pro stuff" is pretty solid..but half of the battle with landscape lighting and outdoor spaces is execution..and this is done sometimes half spiritedly by landscapers or inexperienced designers. You can actually buy lighting design books to get a better understanding. Outdoor lighting system doesn't involve much but a good lighting LV transformer, silicone wire connectors and direct burial 2 wire connected to a 110v C4 light switch or HV relay. The design for outdoor speakers also matters. Good outdoor sound systems are usually about coverage. Good coverage isn't 2 6-inch wall mounted patio speakers at 80% volume for the whole backyard. A variety of smaller aperture speakers at lower volume create a much more clear and enjoyable listening environment. "Rock" speakers usually look and sound cheap. Good speakers should imitate as possible landscape lighting or be aesthetically pleasing. You also have to consider a typical 8ohm (stereo) setup to a 70v system. 70v can have more speakers without adding amplification but quality is affected. mujtaba.khokhar
lippavisual
Most, if not all, of the best outdoor systems all run on 70V topology. Why/how is quality affected vs low impedance wiring? Trying to understand your logic.
Control4Savant
Do a comparison, it's not much "logic"... and just as many systems have stereo options as 70v. Go to a Costal Source demo for a good example.
lippavisual
Dude, I sell CS. Keep drinking the Koolaid from every rep you know. Do your own research and then you may become “enlightened”.
lippavisual
Also, not everyone wants a 3-4’ tall speakers scattered all over the yard.

Rock solid for 3 years now and very happy with them. For audio outside, i use Definitive Technology. Good speakers and budget friendly.
