nik
Hi, Please help me running my system back online. I am second owner of my house which already been installed with control 4 system , Lights . intercom, yale lock , garage door , two camera ( one is door bell ) was running on system . I wanted to transfer ownership to my name from previous owner so contacted dealer who installed this all but no luck . He replied once that he is no more c4 dealer. And now he stopped replying . I am noob and one day decided to reset it after reading on other forums but misundertood the wording and Had hard reset the controller . now I lost everything. I had contacted control 4 they could not found my system and was advised that I need visit from ac4 dealer . After many contacts a local dealer visited and he was asking for back up files from old dealer othervise everything needs to be reproggramed and it will cost me a lot. I tried asking back up files from the dealer who installed it but as i mentioned no luck he is not replying. So now I lost everything and system is kind of junk at the moment. ( photos attached with system information) My question is. is there any way any of you Guys can reprogramme remotely ? ( not even sure weather it can be done ) . Local dealers are very hard to contact with here in Melbourne , Australia. And no one seems interesting doing it . If its possible to do it remotely I am happy to pay for it if it dosent cost me arms and legs. I am noob to control 4 but can do some technicla things . Any help or right direction is greatly appriciated ( also happy to pay for the service or yout time ) Thanks
SamA2V2
Did you have 4Sight? It would have made a backup of your project. If you do, check your Customer Control4 Account.

As the dealer was looking after everything. Who is not replying anymore saying he stopped work for c4. He has moved to different property and has been using new c4 system overthere and also having 4sight subscription for that house. But can he still access and download back up for this ( My) House? If yes can you pls guide me How he can do it? Thanks
OceanDad
Lots of great remote programmers here. You won’t be alone for long. I’d bet that you will end up with a more useful system than you would have had. A good programmer will work with you to make the equipment do things that work for you, not just a generic set up. I see an EA-3 controller there. Depending on the rest of the hardware, you may well be able to upgrade the system to OS3, which gives you some nice improvements. chopedogg88
My bigger concern is that your EA3 is showing a red caution symbol, which indicates it is having a problem booting up and connecting to the network, and very likely may need to be RMA'd. Unless you just happened to take that picture as it was booting up. msgreenf
nik
Yes you right. I took picture when it was booting up. I am checking controller now. there is no red triangle. Only blue power.
chopedogg88
well that's good! sounds like you probably did wipe your system, only way to know for sure would be to connect to the controller with Composer and see. PM me if you need assistance.
Matt Lowe
Yes likely just need to get the controller properly registered and running. We also offer a training course if you want to take a more hands on approach after your system is initialized. https://www.patreon.com/waltstv
zaphod
You should also be able to find local dealers. @alanchow is one of the best C4 driver writers and he is based in the Melbourne area. Maybe contact him as I am sure he would know some local dealers. http://www.chowmainsoft.com/contact-us

IF he uses a newly created account, BUT has access to the old account, it's POSSIBLE there is a cloud back up available to at least 'kickstart' everything. Assuming you are indeed in contact with the previous owner, at least ask if you can get the OLD login info from him (assuming that is the case). If his new system is registered under the old account, it's NOT impossible there is still a back up under that account, though chances are slim it's something I would check. Regardless of the account being new or not, you can see any backups made under customer.control4.com - log in and go to my account, then my system - any backups are down below and you can download one (especially important if old owner is using his old account to get that file ASAP) Understand that depending on the way it was originally programmed and what was left behind with the system (or not), it's still possible it needs (or a new dealer requires) a full reprogramming. It's not always easier to change a setup vs just programming from scratch.
