markf Posted October 7, 2020 Share Posted October 7, 2020 Anyone else find their Ecobee thermostats not responding and having to request a new PIN and reauthorize? The C4 iPhone app says I can request a new PIN on the Extras screen but I don't seem to have that option there. I end up having to open Composer HE and generate a PIN there and then log into my Ecobee account to authorize the app. It seems to happen to me pretty frequently. I imagine this is an Ecobee issue but I thought I would see if anyone here has seen this behavior and had any suggestions. Thanks. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A lot of us dealers and end users drank the Ecobee Kool-Aid and replaced Nest and C4 TStats. (At least one of us saved his Nest equipment and will be reinstalling until you guys work together to fix it). It leaves a bad taste in the mouths of our end users and creates angst towards the C4 ecosystem and us dealers that convinced clients it was a good decision. If you are reading this, you are likely a C4 employee (hopefully) dealer, tech or power user. 80% of Control4 homes are “set it and forget it”. We all take these issues in stride, but the 80%’ers get really bent over things like this. TStats are pretty important. Signed,Ecobee Owners and Integrators that recommended it to their clients. I used the Samsung platform and had problems with the connections, one of the issues was making too many calls within a short period of time to Samsung's servers. The problem is that the control for mobile app can't display the new complex pin code.
